The BodyLink was indeed a welcome accessory for my Canon T2i. When the package arrived I noticed that there was no way that I could attach my Manfrotto Ball Head w/Quick Release to the stock clamp. Although I was able to connect the ball head to the clamp with a couple parts laying around, I feel as if it should have shipped with the item. Once the ball head was secured, I placed my T2i with Canon 18-200mm IS attached and noticed that the clamp was not functioning as intended. So yet again, I had to tweak it a tad and now the camera stands at attention. The BodyLink stores the body, len (packed in Clik Elite Medium Lens Holder), and ball head(packed in small lens holder). Initially I was disappointed with the product but once I worked around the initial short comings, it has turned out to be a great DSLR Pack.

I recently bought the Clik Elite Bodylink CE 512 GR; for the type of work I do, there is simply nothing else like it. There are several very good products which allow one to carry a D SLR with large zoom on the chest ( I almost bought one ),however, this thing goes way beyond that; first, it is a very safe, secure pack for protecting a valuable body/lens while in a big crowd, getting on a plane, etc. Then, when you need the camera, you can have it out and mounted in a flash, and in a lot of cases, it allows you to travel without a tripod; (anytime you can leave a $ 500 ball head and a $ 600 CF Gitzo tripod at home, it's a GOOD THING! ( Less to carry, less to keep track of, and less to lose / get stolen, etc.)

But I'm a great believer in a "steady" camera, and the metal frame on this product does keep the camera quite stable. Granted, it's not like having the camera on the rock solid ball head/tripod, but it's "close enough" in many cases. (depends a lot on the photographer)

A lot of people "review" products......I think many have "unreasonable expectations"!
One reviewer says....."the product is un-satisfactory"; then goes on to say, she bought it from a certain big camera store, for $188! Are you kidding me! I bought mine on Amazon for $133, AND free super saver shipping! You want it next day? Be prepared to PAY for the "lack of patience"! I'll wait 5 days to save $13 shipping anytime! So now she's "mad" a Amazon! I buy all manner of stuff on Amazon....never pay shipping. Think about it..... Getting back to the Bodylink; build wise, quality wise, the thing is superlative; but you still need a small ball head; I went with the $29 opteka, plus a 3/8" to 1/4" brass adapter bushing from Gitzo,($4)so for less that 35 bucks I'm ready to go.

I carry my camera and a variety of lenses with me when I hike, and I have constantly struggled with accessing them along the way before I found this great product. Not only does it hold my stuff securely in place and keep it at my fingertips, it gives me far superior balance and back support along the way. I love it!

Do not order this if you own a Canon 400mm 5.6L lens. The camera will not fit well. I pull the eye piece off every time I try to get the camera out. Wish it was just 1/2" longer. Amazon needs to include the dimensions of the inside compartments. That being said. This is a great pack. A compartment on top for extra batteries, cards and such. Front zip compartment a little bigger. Holds my tripod mount but it is a tight fit. Nice straps that support the weight evenly and easily moves from a front pack to a back pack. Easy access to camera, aside from the being to small. Unzips and drops open. Camera mount is fast and smooth. I end up hiking with the camera mounted because it takes too much time take my big lens out and reattach the eye piece. The bag itself is well padded. Although the rain flap could be a bit larger to fit better. This wouldn't be a problem if your lens was smaller. I ordered a side pouch to hold a smaller lens. It attaches securely with Velcro on the waist strap. Clik makes great durable bags. Great for extreme hiking. If they come out with one a little bigger I will buy it . For now I have to make do because I haven't found a bigger one.

I use this bag on set for my audio gear. It's a great bag, sturdy and well built . When this bag is strapped on in front it allows 3 lav mic receivers to attach to the belt along with a clip for a 20' audio cable. I use two of the mounts (one from a clik elite Volt) to mount a Nexus 7 and Zoom H6 to monitor both audio and a camera feed wirelessly, Inside I keep a portable battery to run the whole setup. . It all packs up inside and with an extra divider gives me space for 3 full lav kits, the Zoom H6 with XLR adapter and 2 shotgun mics. It would fit more if I didn't need to keep the lav mic antenna and mics intact.
