5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome camera sling for smaller DSLR, January 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this product about 1 year ago for something to carry my Nikon D80 in when outdoors and in general when I didnt want a backpack. This thing is perfect for what I wanted to use it for.

The primary use for this was to have something to carry my DSLR with minimal baggage, regardless of where I was going. Since I have purchased this, it has gone on multiple mountain bike rides, hiking expeditions into Rainier National Forest, through San Francisco whirlwind weekend trips, and even a 3 week long medical mission in the jungles of the Philippines. Not once have I had a problem with it. It's been rained on and held up nicely (not waterproof, but the ballistic nylon covering is protective and the inside has always stayed perfectly dry). I have no problem tossing it around a bit and feeling like my camera is safe (even when I endo on my mountain bike).

I mostly use the harness in a sling style, but the ability to criss-cross it for either back or chest wearing is nice when needed.

My D80 fits nicely with any lens I currently own (35mm prime, 18-55mm, 55-200mm), and if I put on the smaller lenses I can usually stack another lens on behind and top of camera body horizontally (it is a really TIGHT fit when I do that, but when your traveling abroad with nothing but carry-on luggage, you have to make due!).

If youre looking for a good outdoor camera case that is small, durable, and reliable, you definitely cannot go wrong with this bad boy. Another plus is that I get comments from other camera owners all the time on it because its so different from the generic other ones out there.

2.0 out of 5 stars Could be better, June 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This product was great in theory but unfortunately not so great in practice. Admittedly I bought this product for an expedition to Denali and it didn't quite make the grade.

The bottom left strap broke the day before my summit attempt. This meant the whole system ended up wonky on my chest and unusable. I ended up having to store the whole thing in my backpack.

I also didn't like the position of the buckles. The buckles ended up behind my armpits and it was a real hassle whern I had to open and close them. I would have preferred the buckles much closer to the camera case itself. With my body size, 6' and 190 lbs, I had to have the straps fully open. When mountaineering, I often need to change layers and the clik system made this much harder than I think is necessary.

On the upside when the straps are not broken and I dont have to open and close the buckles, the system is great. I have used the cottoncarrier holster system in the past but unfortunately I needed a system that protects my camera from ice, snow and moving over mixed terrain (ice/rock)

If the clik had stronger straps and buckles closer to the actual case, it would have been perfect.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not quite as shown in picture, July 10, 2011

I received this camera pack as a Gold Box purchase and it came just in time for a trip I'm taking. I like the size of the bag and it will be much less bulky than trying to carry my larger camera bag. However, the model I received did not include the side zipper for storing accessories. Evidently, the Clik Elite CD301GR has changed since it was placed on the Amazon website, or I received an older version. In any case, this is an adequate camera pack and will make traveling with my camera easier.
