I have read several books on Climate Change and Global Warming and have been trying to really find out the truth for myself since I first saw Gore's movie. I have been frustrated that people on both sides of the issue seem filled with emotion and misinformation. There are careers on the line plus industries and government agencies with a lot to gain or lose.

This book has put the nails in the coffin for me. I now feel secure in the knowledge that the science is NOT settled as Al Gore and his followers keep saying. Any possible dangers are overblown, the models are faulty and our climate future is not really known or certain. Man's part in any possible global warming is also very uncertain and unproven. The solutions put forth by the climate change alarmists are not very helpful even if their alarming premises were true, which they aren't.

The book is a must read for anyone who has the slightest interest in our climate and the environment.

I consider myself an environmentalist, but we have plenty of other issues to pay attention to and solve rather than chasing the red herring of climate change.

As he states, Larry Bell is a space guy. He is an endowed professor of space architecture who founded and directs the Sasakawa International Center for Space Architecture specializing in designing habitats for extreme environments on earth and in space. He has received numerous international honors for his contributions to space development, including ones from Japan and the former Soviet Union. Also, he founded several successful companies.

Mr. Bell explains that the prompting of others made him study and then write a book on climate, exposing where the science has been manipulated by some who use it to advocate a particular ideology. However, one may suspect that his familiarity with successful application of science in the development of space exploration as compared with the current incorrect claims of science in climate studies drove him as well.

Bell has written a non-technical, very readable book for the layman. It broadly surveys climate science and how that science was hijacked by political opportunists. Bell's approach is holistic; he looks upon the climate from the perspective of spaceship earth and from that perspective, states he became what is labeled a climate skeptic, a doomsday denier.

Bell recognizes that many participants of the IPCC process are dedicated hard working scientists, but many of the important conclusions are not based on science, and are contrary to what is in the best interests of humanity. As with Donna Laframboise, Bell gives examples of lead coordinating authors of IPCC reports who are not top experts on the field, contrary to what the IPCC claims.

He writes that exaggerated statements do not serve to promote understanding of the environment and have resulted in a war on energy by the governments many of world's most developed nations. Bell gives specific examples how environmental organizations are leading many politicians and agencies in Washington to set energy policy that is contrary to the economic interests of the nation.

One may quibble with some minor issues, such as the viability of high-speed rail transportation in the US, but overall the book is an excellent survey of the issues as they have become. It is refreshing read from the prospective of an environmentalist who has spent a career thinking about and developing human habitats. Bell writes the book is: "Dedicated to Al Gore, whose invention of the Internet made this book possible, and whose invention of facts made it necessary."

This book is not a simple, quick, easy read. However, if, by the end of it, you still believe in global warming, you have clearly not understood what you have just read.
If you're a global warming believer today, you'll be an informed skeptic after reading this book.

This is an extremely well-written book disputing the validity of the mainstream-accepted idea of human-caused global warming. It is well-researched, and makes a very strong case for an outlook that is contrary to most of what you might hear on the subject. While the author is occasionally a tad snarky with regard to those on the other side of the issue, he is nowhere near as uncivil as they gnerally are in regard to anyone disputing their accepted wisdom, nor does he sound as irrational as many people on his side of the issue do.

I am nowhere near the scientist it would take to be able to definitively determine whether his claims are in fact accurate, or whether those who take the more mainstream approach have the truth on their side.I confess to bias in Bell's favor: I WANT to believe what he says, because I expect that if the doomsayers are correct, we are faced with two choices. Either we will cause a catastrophic climate change, or our entire civilization will collapse. Neither of these choices are acceptable, and picking between them is a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't alternative that I truly hope that we are not faced with. But whether Bell is right or not, one thing is certain: if you want to read a rational, well-balanced and researched statement of the argument against human-caused climate change, even if just to acquaint yourself with the arguments that need to be refuted, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better example than this book.

It's one thing to know that the United Nations (UN) has been working against the interests of the United States almost since its inception --- everyone knows that --- but it's quite another thing to discover that the United States Government, at least the Democrat controlled wing of that government, "America's Ruling Class," has been and continues to work hand-in-hand with the UN in an attempt to destroy the US economy and bring about a one-world socialist government, a presumably more equitable "global" economy, and a "New World Order." But, based on the information contained in this book: THERE CAN BE NO DOUBT ABOUT IT.

The book is so comprehensive, so authoritative, and its evidence so well-substantiated, in fact, that it completely defeats and disproves all the systematic lies constantly being foisted upon the American public by the UN and by our elected, and unelected, ruling class as well as by their liberal minions in the mainstream media regarding man-made global warming (aka "Climate Change), Carbon Dioxide (CO2) being a pollutant, the need for economy destroying cap-and-trade legislation/regulation, drowning polar bears, the melting ice caps, rising tides, and the supposed abundance of readily available alternative sources of energy (solar power, wind mills, ethanol, hydrogen, etc.), et. al. Taken together these lies, often referred to by critics by the dismissive term, "Global Warming Hoax," must surely be the greatest power grab and the greatest crime ever perpetrated on mankind, and particularly on the American people, in the history of the world.

This book is so comprehensive and filled with so much vital information concerning so many different subjects that it may be a daunting read. But it's worth the effort, for it will educate you, enlighten you, and in all likelihood enrage you. It did me. I hope you'll read it and encourage everyone you know to read it too. For "Political Correctness" is one thing, but "Political Corruptness" on this scale and at these levels of government is something else again and something that Americans can no longer afford to tolerate. After reading the book I can only say: God help us if we ever elect another Democrat to any National office.

If you are not convinced that the science of global climate has been totally hijacked by political hacks, then read this. A lot of folk is making a lot of money off the Global Warming Hoax.... Gore has went from $1 mil in assets in 2000 to 100x that now....carbon credits. Energy and carbon tax trading...yeah, gimme a break.

I am so glad I got this book. I have the Kindle version. It gives details of how the Global Warming phenomena got its start, and what keeps it going. The author details the information and gives direct quotations along with the data. It is disgusting to see how the world has been manipulated by so few in order to generate a "crisis" where none really exists. This should be required reading everywhere thoughtful people exist.

I thought this book was well written, well researched and documented, and sticks to the facts... the scientific facts.

Some of the one star ratings about this book contain comments alleging the author doesn't use science. I have no idea what planet these people live on, for 95% of this book is focused on objective analysis of the scientific data presented on both sides. Everything presented in this book is foot noted, and backed up with supporting detail. Is there political commentary included in the book about the possible political reasons for the "Climate Change" proponents? Yes, of course. You cannot have a discussion about climate change without looking at the motivations behind it. The author points out and documents everything. I would challenge these same one-star reviewers to find a pro climate crisis book without a political bent.

There has ALWAYS been climate change. If the world once had an Ice Age, then wouldn't the climate have been changing - since there is no longer and Ice Age? (For the climate change fanatics, this reasoning is called LOGIC, which, by the way, is often used used in science!) The reason the Global Warming advocates no longer refer to this histeria as "Global Warming" is because they now know, with scientific evidence with such things as thermomter readings, that the planet is no longer on a warming trend, and hasn't been since 1998. (As the author points out, this is despite the continued rise in CO2.) To keep this histeria going, they have covered their bases by changing the mantra from Global Warming to "Climate Change". What if the planet started to cool? Would this now be due to CO2 as well?

It is very sad to see so many minds full of mush that will believe anything they hear. The author, in my opinion, is right on, when he surmises that many on the left have adopted this climate change hysteria as their new, state sponsored religion. Like with most religious people, facts presented to them that are contrary to their religious views - will never be considered facts.

So far, it is interesting to see how the book has been rated. There are very few 2, 3 or 4 star ratings. It's mostly 1 star or 5 stars. That shows how political and religious this topic is. Not much science in religion.

I would wager that many of the reviewers that gave this book a one-star rating due to "no science" comment, didn't actually read the book, or started it and never finished. This book is an eye opener. It is full of scientific data, and shows how the peer review process that should parallel any thorough scientific research was not followed, and how data that was presented contrary to those on the global warming bandwagon was ignored or diminished, and how those with contrary scientific findings were ostracised from peer review process, and in some cases from the scientific community. Not much science in that, is there?

This is a must read for those that want ALL of the scientific data presented, from both sides, and then be able to make your own observations.

Pat Michaels, Roy Spencer, and other scientists have debunked the false science behind Climate Alarmism. The various Climategate scandals have shown the corruption and cronyism of the small band of scientists that provide cover for this fraud. As advertised, this book's focus is on the Politics, Power, and Ideology behind the Global Warming fraud.

The flurry of content-free one-star reviews demonizing the author and trashing the book are simply Saul Alinsky tactics to divert attention from the message of this book. You should take that as a strong signal that there is something here MUCH worth knowing about. Alinsky was communist with a small "c," and it is significant that one of the major Republican Presidential candidates casually mentioned in the last debate that Obama was a Saul Alinsky communist and NO ONE DISPUTED IT.

The Climate Alarmist campaign is something dark and threatening that needs to be exposed and better understood. History has shown that politicized science is VERY dangerous -- think of Stalin or Hitler and remember the history of false eugenics and agricultural science, frauds that killed millions. You should read this book to see what's going on at the policy level, what drives Climate Alarmism. What's at stake is human freedom and quality of life, not climate. Recommended.

I also recommend "Blue Planet in Green Shackles" by Klaus. And for a lighter but still educational read, try Michael Crichton's "State of Fear." This is a 2004 novel, but Dr. Crichton NAILED what was coming, and he was spot on. If you buy his book on a Kindle, you will also get links to some of Crichton's science fact articles on the subject.

I'm only a third of the way through this book, but I'm having to take my time (and I'm normally a fast reader) as this tome is PACKED FULL of scientific studies, charts, and examples to dispute the Al Gore fairy tale - and there's only so much that a non-scientist can absorb at one time. I don't know where all those one-star reviewers came from (I suspect a conspiracy!) who claim there's no science here. One even called this book left-wing, which should tell you something: i.e., he/she didn't read it. So far, I can't fault this book one little bit, and as someone who has taken the time to research the truth about so-called man-made global warming, I can say that this information rings true with my findings thus far.
