Book Description

June 14, 2001
Your child's autism does not have to be a life sentence! If you are seeking hope, relief, and developmental gain for your son or daughter, Climbing Out Of Autism One Bite At A Time is a practical recovery guide designed with your child's needs, and your demanding schedule, in mind. Using a simple, two-pronged approach called Comprehensive Organic Intervention, your child can achieve and maintain a stable state using dietary and environmental continuity. In a stable state, your child will be naturally empowered to make physical, cognitive, social, and behavioral gain. By identifying and eliminating impediments to a stable state, your child can become physically, mentally, and emotionally receptive. Positive, measurable, and lasting improvements have been witnessed in demeanor, language development and skills, social skills, eye contact, interest in surroundings, enthusiasm to learn, employing empathy, use of imagination, and reduced or eliminated tactile and sensory defensiveness. Researched and developed by the mother of an autistic child, Comprehensive Organic Intervention has facilitated her son's miraculous recovery without the use of additional therapies. Using a step by step format, this must-have manual includes recipes, quick reference guides, and theory.

This review is from: Climbing Out Of Autism One Bite At A Time: A Step By Step Manual For Recovery and Developmental Gain (Paperback)
This is a very imformative book about autism, even going as far as describing what the symptoms of a reaction feels like to an autistic child. Michelle Cheney can tell us about these feelings because her husband was having the same reactions as her son and he could later describe them. She tells us of a diet that starts out really basic and slowly adds foods back in to see which foods causes her child reactions. She notes how his cognitive skills get better or worse with different foods. I take care of an autistic child and after I read this I had to give it to her mother. I think this could help so many children. With all the food additives, toxins in immunizations, heavy metals, stuff absorbed through the skin... This book is wonderful for any parent with an autistic child. Full of information.
