A chapbook of poems.
V. Jane Schneeloch was born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts. She received her BA and MA in English from Westfield State College. For 35 years she taught English at East Hartford High School where she helped create and teach various courses including poetry, African-American literature, Human Rights Seminar, and mythology. She now works as the office manager for the Drama Studio in Springfield, a conservatory-style acting training school, where she edits the newsletter Backstage.
At eight years of age she completed her first collection of poetry bound together as a birthday gift for her mother. More recently she has been published in Common Ground Review; Equinox; Hello, Goodbye; Peregrine; Poetic Voices Without Borders; Shine; and Survivors Review. Her play In Hiding was produced last year as part of the Drama Studio's Winter Shorts Festival.
Jane has been certified as a writing workshop leader by Amherst Writers and Artists and has led writing groups for adolescents, senior citizens, and incarcerated women. She is particularly inspired by the work of visual artists such as Georgia O'Keeffe and Edward Hopper. She has traveled several times to New Mexico and most recently studied O'Keeffe in Santa Fe and at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu. Jane lives, writes, and spoils her dog Riley in Springfield.
