4.0 out of 5 stars they have their flaws, but they work August 11, 2010
ok these are not perfect, but they do work .. and I do recommend them. I had bed bugs and covered my mattress and box spring with the special covers. I also used these cups .. and waited. And waited. Finally after almost a month, I saw my first bed bug trapped in the outer ring, which means they are coming up from the floor rather than down from the bed. I was glad to finally see a bug after checking every night for weeks, but bummed that the truth is I have bed bugs in my carpet.

However .. .after a month, two of my cups broke. They cracked right where the legs of my bed make contact with the plastic, but only on my side of the bed. Now I weigh 125 lbs and my husband weighs 210 lbs .. and I'm not sure why they broke on my side and not on his ... so keep in mind that they're not perfect.

However, they do work. and they did provide valuable information about where the bugs are coming from. Just know that you should check them often for signs of compromise (breakage)

4.0 out of 5 stars Passive and temporary intervention against bed bugs April 4, 2011
I moved to a new apartment that was apparently infested. We were bitten within days of moving. Also, they left their "signatures" all around our mattress encasement, black feces dotted the sides and undersides of our encasement and blood stains on our sheet. After complaining to the landlord, the infestation was confirmed by the bedbug sniffing dog hired by them. It is the law in NYC that once an infestation was discovered the landlord must proactively act to eradicate the infestation regardless who brought them in but a lot of landlords and tenants preferred to keep it quiet and treat each apartment individually. In other words, they are in constant denial in order to avoid the high cost of eradication (around $1700 in NYC) until the whole building is totally infested. The bedbugs can do without a blood meal for a month and will start feeding once someone moved into the apartment. Once they have regular blood meal, they will start breeding and in a short period of time, the whole apartment and the surrounding ones will definitely be infested.

Trying to fight the landlord to do what is their job and the draconian preparation to get us ready for the treatment/sealing of the apartment, the Climbup was the next best thing that we could use. We already encased the mattress and box spring before moving into the apartment so our bed is already protected. After the bedbugs were discovered, we stripped and washed our beddings/linens in hot water and create a safe "island" for our bed, together with the Climbups we placed on each of the bed legs. Nothing should be hanging from the bed that would create a bridge for the bugs to climb and feed on us while sleeping. We moved the bed away from any walls, night tables, electrical cables that might be used by the bugs to climb.

2.0 out of 5 stars Definitely not worth the money September 16, 2010

you can create the same product at home by using two plastic cups - one smaller than the other. Stick on some medical tape on the outside of the bigger cup so that it provides traction for bed bugs to climb, and put some talcum powder on the inside of both cups so that the bed bugs cant escape once they fall in. You could even use the lids of take-out plastic bowls.

3.0 out of 5 stars This products works but.... March 15, 2010

I ordered this product after finding out I had gotten bedbug from my previous apartment. I think they are very cheaply made but if you have carpet under the bed you are using this for you should be fine. I combined this with the Diatomaceous Earth powder and an exterminator. After the exterminator came I noticed bedbugs indeed trapped in the interceptor and after a day they were dissolved by the powder. The powder works but is very messy, I suggest getting the shaker version of it. Overall I am happy this products traps them I just wish the material it was made with was more sturdy.

5.0 out of 5 stars They Work! June 12, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase
I battled a bed bug problem in my previous apartment. I am happy to say, however, that the issue did not originate in my apartment but rather my downstairs neighbors who had a massive infestation. To the chagrin of everyone, the tenants below me attempted to treat the bed bugs themselves using fumigation and store bought products instead of calling an exterminator. Subsequently the bugs retreated into the walls and upwards towards my apartment.

I never had an infestation in my apartment, but every so often a bed bug would climb up through the floor or a radiator, bite me and my girlfriend, and either retreat to our blinds (yes our blinds) or find a new home in our bed.

This process went on for months... and it was horrible. And since the bugs were now in the walls, the treatment the exterminator performed on the building only "thinned the herd."

I bought the Climb up Interceptors here on amazon just hoping that they would work, and damn do they work well. Within the first couple weeks we caught 5 or 6 bed bugs headed to our bed from our radiator. Eventually they just die in the trap.

I would recommend this to anyone dealing with bedbugs - just make sure your sheets never touch the ground!

Having these around your bed helps you in two ways.

1. Prevents the bed bugs from getting on your bed.
2. Isolates your bed from the ground and the rest of your room, which in turn can tell you if they are living IN your bed - I was able to determine they were in my bed frame using this method, which ultimately lead me to becoming bed bug free.

5.0 out of 5 stars These work very well
You know these work when you see the little black bedbug dots on the white plastic. I took an extra step by spraying the traps so they die immediately.

Well I don't have bed bugs so I'm happy. Guess I won't know unless other people in my building have bed bugs, but it's an easy product to use.
