I bought this book after i bought the MKSAP. I think its much better than MKSAP. It is very readable and gives you a good summary of what you need to know without going through all the painful studies that you would normally read through in a standard text book. For residents I think its the best book.I will update this review as and when I start answering the board questions.

Great But,
This review is from: Mayo Clinic Internal Medicine Review, Eighth Edition (Paperback)
a great review with full indepth but concise coverage, the cardilogy chapter is uptodate which is critical, the endocrine chapter as well has a lot of myths revoked so it is less confusing now, the tables of med interactions at the end of each chapter is ok but need more care (list of side effects the important ones are not there)

Most review books are essentially outlines. I find these reviews difficult to read and recall during testing and medical practice. The Mayo Clinic review is easy to read and recall. I find the readability and chapter format is consistent making it easy to look up specific issues. If you plan on reading consistently during your medicine rotations in medical school, residency, or in practice for board exams I would recommend this book. If you are cramming for an examination - it has the material but it unlikely you have the time. Good Luck either way.

Mayo Internal Medicine Review is the Ultimate IM Board Exam Prep Source.
I bought it as a birthday present for my daughter. This is the only resource she used to pass her IM Board Exam with ease and flying colors! She is currently a fellow in Cardiovascular disease with Mass. General Hospital. Thank You Mayo Clinic!

Our school of course required this book, its not bad. I'm in an independant study program and I found it a little difficult to find the material we were required to look up. I'm not sure if that was the book or the instructors though. Best of luck studying :o)
