5.0 out of 5 stars The best unintentional purchase I have ever made, September 30, 1999
This review is from: Clinic (Audio CD)
I was at Kim's Records, waiting on line to make my purchases, and this album was on. Well, as is often the case at Kim's, the computers went down and I had to wait and wait and wait. And the longer I waited, the more I wanted this record. So eventually I had to pay $20 for the vinyl that was on the turntable, but it was entirely worth.

It reminds me of My Bloody Valentine, early The Jesus and Mary Chain and a little of Sonic Youth, though it doesn't really sound like any of those (well, except maybe JMC). The point being, if you are self-respecting human being, and you like rock and roll, you should own this album.

These guys are amazing. The sounds they use and the wide range of music they play is almost like magic. Check this one out it might come as a nice surprice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Early Sides, December 16, 2010

This is fine example of Clinic's earliest music. It is very garage rock, rough and ready to go.
Fans of Clinic must have this!

There hasn't been a band with a orginal & cool sound like this since the VU. So I say, if your into VU buy this album, you won't be disappointed!

4.0 out of 5 stars 21st century boilermaker, January 30, 2002
This review is from: Clinic (Audio CD)
So how do you come up with a concoction as incredible as Clinic?
First, mash up all your musical medication. Take that rare essence of VU, take that rough but tasty blast of Pavement's Westing by Sextant and Musket, take that proto-electronic blend of Can and Suicide, and strain it through a modern sensiblity. Then take this mixture and drop it in a pint of warm London lager. The taste should remind you slightly of vintage Fall. But make no mistake, it is its own drink! Rarely does experimentation rock so greatly. We'll dock 'em a star'cuz it's so expensive. Do what you got to but get this in ya!
