Valuable information--use this BEFORE you conclude!,
By Christopher Herron (Cheyenne, WY, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Clinical Assessment of Malingering and Deception, Third Edition (Hardcover)
This scholarly work is rich in study findings, discussion of past methods of screening for various types of malingering and is a good collection of some more obscure research. My only criticism is, that at times, it is a little difficult to read due to the long, in-text referencing. Footnotes would have been a better format. A 'Must Have' for any clinicial who might be called into the courtroom.

Dr. Rogers has once again compiled a superb collection of scholarly articles on diverse areas of malingering assessment. I literally have referred to this text dozens of times since I purchased it. It was a major source of information for a paper I recently wrote that concerned, in part, assessment of dissimulation in forensic disability evaluations. I also recently read the chapter, Assessment of Recovered and False Memories, which helped me better understand a complex, challenging case. Rogers' introductory chapters will provide you with a sophisticated understanding of the principles, assessment approaches, and research strategies related to detecting significant exaggeration and feigning of mental disorders (in addition to similar information on the detection of defensiveness or under-reporting). I highly recommend this essential reference.
