3.0 out of 5 stars Great final review... after you learned it all somewhere simple
First, I am glad I own this text as I'm confident it will be an invaluable review prior to approaching the cardiac patient.

This is an incredible book for anybody and everybody in the medical field. It's great, easy reading with loads of very helpful information. It gives incredible instructions on everything from history taking and exam techniques, to interpreting ECG's and x-rays. The interactive CD allows you to put all the information together in case format to try to make diagnoses on patients, and really forces you into 'problem solving' mode. I highly recommend this book to ALL students, and even practitioners who want to brush up on their skills.

5.0 out of 5 stars review of cardiology, March 17, 2006

The book is just FANTASTIC. The reproduction of heart sounds is something absolutely necessary for the physician, but you cannot find real patients to hear all of these sounds. The addition of the CD, with this and other very important features is just too impressive to describe.
The best cardiology book I have ever read. In a scale of 1 to 10, it scores 20.

5.0 out of 5 stars PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, October 27, 2004
This book is out of this world!!!!!! Dr.Chizner brilliantly interweaves high yield facts with light-hearted cartoons for enjoyable reading. The highly informative diagrams and figures get to the "heart of the matter," and allow for easy understanding of complex topics. If only I had this book since the beginning of medical school!!! ---This is without a doubt an essential book for ALL students and health professionals. As an added bonus, I loved the one-of-a-kind interactive CD featuring Dr.Chizner's amazingly reproduced heart sounds, EKG's, and clinical vignettes. BRAVO to this virtuoso and his masterpiece!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic cardiology resource!, January 30, 2004
By
I am a physician assistant student who just completed my cardiology rotation. Before the rotation, I read this book that I heard from a friend that had a complete coverage of topics for the cardiac conditions I would encounter. The book was invaluable to me and the heart sounds CD included with the book was great for tweaking my diagnosis acumen. I also had some D.O.'s in my school use it and they were amazed at how easy the book was to read and apply to their rotations. I would strongly recommend this book to any student of medicine, those reviewing for the boards, or a practitioner who just wants to brush up.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Simple" , Fun and Packed Full!, January 30, 2004
By A Customer
This book is THE book in Clinical Cardiology! Imagine fun and learning all in the same book. This is BY FAR the best book I have seen. The material presented to you is easy to follow and not in the least boring, as are all of the books out there on Cardiology. The CD with Dr. Chizner's heart sounds, EKG's, cath clips, etc is an unbelievable tool, which is an added bonus! Finally a "Ridiculously Simple" book on Cardiology. Dr. Chizner, where have you been? My "heartfelt" thanks to Dr. Goldberg for finding him!

Great job. i highly recommend this book fro everyone, especially those people that are having a hard time remembering important information. It will increased anyones knowledge by enhancing and converting what was hard to retain into something made ridicously simple! 3.0 out of 5 stars Great final review... after you learned it all somewhere simple, March 2, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
First, I am glad I own this text as I'm confident it will be an invaluable review prior to approaching the cardiac patient.

HOWEVER, this text is not useful for someone trying to understand the basics of the subject, as so many of the other "ridiculously simple" series excel at. For example, in the EKG chapter he throws in a bunch of rhythms at you with inadequate explanation of why the rhythm looks like it does.

If you're a learner, read Pathophys of Heart Disease and The Only EKG Book... and then finish with this book and you will be a well equipped beginning clinician.

If you are hoping for a palatable intro to clinical cardiology, you will be overwhelemed and discouraged.

Fails to be "ridiculously simple" for the learner but excels as a review for those a few steps down the cardiology road.

5.0 out of 5 stars GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, January 23, 2010
I must say this book is one of the most extraordinary compilations in the field of cardiology!!! Dr.Chizner, the mastermind in cardiology, has embodied his talent into a book that is easily comprehendible, yet intricately detailed with up-to-date facts. The reproduced heart sounds are ABSOLUTELY exceptional!! Not to mention the section on reading EKGs, I refer to it all the time in my practice !!! The mass appeal of the book in medical schools and private practice has made it apparent that this nationally renowned cardiologist is also a teacher. With Dr Chizner's brilliant work, "our hearts are in good hands."

5.0 out of 5 stars Cardiology Made Simple, Beautifully!, July 6, 2007

This review is from: Clinical Cardiology Made Ridiculously Simple (Edition 2 - 2007) (Paperback)
Dr. Chizner did a phenomenal job in creating the 2nd edition of Clinical cardiology. You can clearly see his passion in cardiology by all that he puts into his work on this book. In just 345 pages the book will take you through clinical perspectives in cardiology, history of a patient with CAD, physical findings, what tests should be administered, how to read the tests and understand them, different case studies are presented. The interactive CD's used to mimic the actual sounds of the heart, a murmur. This is a fantastic book. It is definitely the book of choice in my opinion for anyone interested in the field of cardiology. Dr. Chizner has a great knack for teaching and this book teaches cardiology to you. It speaks to you. No matter which way you are looking to enter into cardiology whether it is through teaching, studying, school, selling this is the book that will help you get there. It is a must have book.
