A Survival Guide!,
By Mommy, RN (Burlington, NJ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Clinical Companion to Medical-Surgical Nursing, 2e (Hardcover)
This was a fantastic book! I call it the "Cliff Notes" version of the textbook. If you're having trouble with the amount of assigned readings in your textbook, I highly recommend you get this book. My whole class is jealous that I got this book because they had to wait months for their copies.

This review is from: Clinical Companion to Medical-Surgical Nursing, 7e (Clinical Companion (Elsevier)) (Paperback)
Excellent for when you need the information and don't want to read an entire chapter to find it out. I call it the Cliff's note's version of the textbook. All major diagnosises are included, their etiologies, assessments, diagnostics, and treatments. Useful in clinical.

LEWIS IS THE HARDEST BOOK TO READ, BUT THE LEWIS CONPANION IS SO EASY TO READ. JUST LOOK UP THE MEDICAL PROBLEM AND READ EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. I GOT THIS BOOK IN MY 2ND YEAR OF NURSING AND I WISH I WOULD HAVE FOUND IT THE FIRST YEAR.

This book is amazing! As a student nurse, we are required to have our Medsurg book at the clinical site. Those of you that have seen the book can agree that you can seriously hurt someone with that book; I mean it is huge! This companion has been a life-saver in every way. It is compact, has all the pertinent information, and is easy to read. I truly recommend it to all nursing students. Good Luck!

This is good to have with you during clinicals. I am going to purchase the Lewis workbook (studyguide). The clinical advisers have shown us it helps a lot.

Awesome guide in understanding the chapters and perfecting your nclex taking skills. Gives you the chapter summed up in just a few pages. Definitely worth buying if you are using the full size of this book, whether it's the 7th or 8th edition. This is also a good resource to have for anyone, you simply flip to the back where you're disease process is and it has the complete review, diagnostics, nursing management and diagnoses for EVERYTHING!

This book has been very helpful to me this semester. Its got most of the information from the big textbook but it is much more compact. I am able to learn at a faster pace and don't have to spend weeks reading from the chapters in the textbook. Great buy!

This is a really nice little reference book...I keep it with me at work for quick reference. Very helpful, since Nurses have to keep so much information at hand when assessing our patients. Inexpensive, and valuable.
