5.0 out of 5 stars A must for Fam med / Internal med providers
This book offers a simplified approach on how to read EKGs. It is very easy to read and covers a vast array of topics. It is said that any fam med / internal med resident needs to read an EKG book. This book is definitly the one to read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not that great.
I bought this text, then borrowed my friend's Dubin text. Haven't looked back at it once. The information is easy to comprehend but it is not a "simplified approach" in my opinion.

im a registered nurse in the philippines and i found this book quite simple to read and understand. bottom line, it has helped me understand essential concepts that are necessary for anyone who wants to know how to read an ECG strip, like me. hopefully, it may help many others as well despite some opinions to the contrary. a great book for beginners...

4.0 out of 5 stars ECG for PA Students, April 11, 2002
By
Antone Opekun, PA-C (Houston, Texas United States) - See all my reviews
This is an excellent introductory text and companion to my lecture series for PA and Allied Health Students. It begins by emphasizing 12-lead ECG interpretation and evolves to arrhythmias, parts 1 & 2 respectively. Chapters 21 & 22 are an unneccessary summary to all that proceeds it, but may help a few lost soles.

The cases are good, but the printed graphics are small. The end of chapter summaries are nice adjuncts and are more helpful than chapters 21 & 22. Chapters 8 & 9 could be combined and chapter 10 could easily be incorporated into other chapters or moved to part 2. A companion text of "unknowns" or increased numbers of problems would be a better use of paper in lieu of chapter 21. Problems with the end-of-chapter, found in the previous edition's review questions, have been fixed. Introduction to cellular electrophysiology could be enhanced since not all students have covered that material in the adjunct physiology course prior to beginning this course and I briefly turn to Hurst or Braunwald. A slide set would be a nice addition....

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read....with enough stuff to teach you everything, August 20, 2008
This review is from: Clinical Electrocardiography: A Simplified Approach (Paperback)
This book is one of my top 3 favorites from medical school. It was so easy to read that you could literally read it cover to cover. If you are a 2nd year or especially a 3rd year student, get this book, you won't regret it.

This is a great book for building technical skill in reading ECGs. You'll be able to read an ECG is you read this book. It was required reading in my medical school class.
