5.0 out of 5 stars Essential guidelines
"Clinical Guidelines in Family Health" is a great tool for the NP or NP student. It contains research backed protocols for managing various problems in the primary care setting. This book served as the core text in my introductory clinical course as a NP student and was considered an essential reference tool by staff and students alike.

3.0 out of 5 stars time for an update
While the format and basic information are helpful, some of the material has been outdated. Look forward to a more up to date guideline for family practice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential clinical reference, April 14, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Clinical Guidelines in Family Practice (Paperback)
This book is an essential clinical reference for both NP students and practicing NPs. It is organized in an easy to use format. It contains up-to-date information on diagnosing and managing common illnesses seen in both children and adults. It also contains thorough information on health promotion. I would recommend this book to all students and new clinicians.

5.0 out of 5 stars Invaluable Reference Tool, March 13, 2003
By A Customer
As a nurse practitioner student, things were much easier once I discovered this reference. As a new graduate nurse practitioner, I KNOW I couldn't survive without this reference. With the focus on evidence-based practice, a provider MUST follow true, tested, approved guidelines to stay up-to-date and free of trouble! Worth every dime and then some.

Great reference book.. This is the second version I have. I bought the first when in NP school and along the way in my travels somehow lost it. Tremendous reference with easy format and logical treatments. Book every NP should have at fingertips.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oustanding!, February 27, 2006
This review is from: Clinical Guidelines in Family Practice (Paperback)
I am currently in school to become a Nurse Practitioner. This book is an absolute must-have for others pursuing this career or those in clinical practice. It contains the latest information in easy-to-read format. The treatment recommendations are evidence-based. I have Harrison's as well, but it's difficult to dig through the massive amounts of information to get the treatment guidelines that I need. This book is concise and gets right to the point. I don't know how I survived so long without it!!

This is one of the best books for FNP students and all PCPs. It covers every aspect of a condition from diagnosis through follow up. Very detailed and easy to read. Softcover makes it easy to handle on your lap or one handed. It is a shame that an updated edition has yet to be released. Having been printed in 2003, some of the information is outdated. PLEASE release an updated copy!!!
