Provides eminently practical guidelines on management along with indications for admissions and cost containment considerations.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"The book is well-organized with a focus on organ system emergencies (i.e., pulmonary, genitourinary, etc.). They have structured the text to provide essential points and priorities for diagnosis, management, follow-up care recommendations, and indications for hospital admission for each topic presented. Their end product once again is a readable, easy-to-use handbook for medical students, residents, and practicing physicians.""In summary the Clinical Manual of Emergency Pediatrics provides a very thorough and in-depth review in a handbook format. It functions more like a condensed textbook, but is easy to carry. The editors reach their goal of providing a concise reference. With its well-written chapters, the manual provides more information than the usual portable handbook and would be useful for the physician who does not want to carry a textbook at all times."

Book Description

A new edition of this very successful, portable, easy-to-use reference on all clinical problems encountered in any setting where ill or injured children are seen. It gives clear, practical guidance to all physicians on emergency treatment and advises on patient transfer to other departments for follow-up care. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I dont usually Awrite reviews on Amazon.. but i feel every resident should know abt this book..
For a pediatrics residents, this book is simply 'A MUST'!
When i first got the book, my intention was to help me mostly in the ER kind of work.. bt no! it has almost everything i need for ER/Clinic/Inpatient/and even PICU patients!!
i dont know how they all the needed info in a relatively small book..
but for every patient i have, i would find practically everything i need (including orders/workup, the meds with doses and f/u!!) wrapped in one place...
I have to say that initially my colleagues didnt like its layout (little dry), a lot of them now have their own copies! :)
Bottom line: IF YOU ARE A PEDIATRIC RESIDENT, JUST GET IT!! u'll never regret it!
Good luck..

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Emergency Nurse Practice Text, July 26, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Clinical Manual of Emergency Pediatrics (Paperback)
This text is excellent for getting information on the material taught in ENPC for nurses. The information is clearly written and highlights those issues encountered in pediatric emergency practice. Nice work.
