We utilize this book as a resource on our Med/Surg Unit. It provides step by step instruction for our new hires & a thorough review for those who haven't performed a procedure/care ina long time.

Many of my classmates stopped reading the text half way through the semester. Perry & Potter are masters of creating step by step lists of fundamental procedures, but often leave out important details (especially during procedures requiring aseptic technique). We used this text in conjunction with the evolve course. The evolve course has great videos, and the lessons and explanations are better written than the accompanying text. I am actually looking for another fundamentals book because I just don't see myself referring back to this tome of "written ambien" anytime in the future.

I find this book very resourceful when referring back to information I didn't understand in my nursing course. It was also a great book to review material that I have forgotten from previous courses. I required an updated edition for the text but I'm glad I bought this one because the material is similar to the newest edition that is out. Unfortunately, I don't use much of this textbook for my nursing class but it is good to have I suppose for practicing and reviewing nursing skills and techniques. I'd recommend this book but I would say you would do fine without the book (if you need it for a nursing school course) or just borrow it from a friend who's willing to buy one.

Wow! This book is huge! Purchased for our son in high school. When it arrived we thought it was a phone book at first! Filled with all the information he needed and more. Great buy!

This book explains step by step the procedures; however, it takes too long (pages and pages) to explain something simple, and that annoys me.
