3.0 out of 5 stars good information; great IPA reference, November 19, 1998
By A Customer
I felt that this book was a really good introductory phonetics text book. I've used it as a good standard for phonetic transcription over the past few years as an SLP student. It's a great reference, although it is a little dry.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good information and very useful for new SLP students, November 27, 2010

This review is from: Clinical Phonetics (3rd Edition) (Paperback)
I really liked this textbook and have found it to be a very good reference since taking the phonetics class. My professor used the book exclusively throughout the entire class and I found it to be easy to understand. The inside cover charts where a "lifesaver" when it came to knowing the phonetics charts. I would highly recommend this textbook.
