I felt that this book was a really good introductory phonetics text book. I've used it as a good standard for phonetic transcription over the past few years as an SLP student. It's a great reference, although it is a little dry.

I really liked this textbook and have found it to be a very good reference since taking the phonetics class. My professor used the book exclusively throughout the entire class and I found it to be easy to understand. The inside cover charts where a "lifesaver" when it came to knowing the phonetics charts. I would highly recommend this textbook.

The book was delivered within a week. I'm pleased with the text but it didn't come with the cds.

This book is a wonderful introduction to phonetics. It is clear, visual, and has many useful charts and practice. It's a little pricey and has a few parts that I disagree with, but it is overall a really great book. I would recommend this to any professor looking for a book for an introduction to phonetics or linguistics class.

This package came on time and was in the condition it said it would be.

Overall, happy with the purchase. The book was a little more worn than I expected though.

I waited for 4 weeks to get the product because it said it might take that long, thinking that "thats worse case scenario right?"...wrong, worse case was me not ever getting the book then being screwed in the class because by this point i had waited so long it was redundant to go buy the book somewhere else. If you don't have the book to send...don't trick someone by saying you do!
