Lauded as "the classic reference" and "monumental work by a master cardiologist" in its previous editions, the 4th Edition remains the only book dedicated primarily to the clinical manifestations of unoperated congenital heart disease from birth through adulthood. The text presents full coverage of the natural history, physical signs, electrocardiographic, radiologic, and 2D echocardiographic features of congenital heart disease.

4.0 out of 5 stars Complete information for specialists, February 15, 2001
By
I used this book during the preparation of my thesis. For this purpose, it was sometimes too detailed and complex. I think this book will be helpfull for congenital heart specialists, since all information is included for every heart defect, very well-organized. Every chapter on a certain malformation includes the history, physical appearance, auscultation, additional investigations and a clear summary. A lot of illustrations of ECG's or x-rays and pictures clarify the text. The book is (as the title says) specifically focussed on the clinical recognition of a malformation. For other purposes, such as studying longer-term outcome, the book does not provide the information.
