This bottle opener has some excellent magnets on it! They are pretty strong for something going on a refrigerator, but they are coated with plastic to protect your fridge. I'm not sure how many bottle caps are currently hanging onto this opener, but at the moment it is hard to tell that it has a bottle opener on it!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MAGNETIC BOTTLE OPENER!!

I agree with the other commenter here regarding the difficulty using the opener. I have trouble with it and recently had some friends over and I observed them having difficulty too. It takes at least 2-3 attempts to actually open a glass beer bottle. For something as simple and yet expensive as this item, it's really unforgiveable.

I looked through the reviews of some of the other Clink N Drink items here on Amazon and someone else having trouble suggested a "Starr X" opener to replace the one provide by Clink N Drink. I performed the upgrade and it does work much better (The Clink N Drink does have a variable height screw hole system, so it should accept a decent range of replacement openers).

I'll upload a picture too, but if you remove the opener in the Clink N Drink you can see 2 metal structural fingers that extend down to the lip that grabs the cap. Based on the differences between this and the replacement, it appears these fingers extend too far down and actually interfere with gripping the cap. I think I could have used my Dremel or similar tool to cut just a bit off, and it would have worked better with no replacement opener necessary.

...but in reality, it doesn't work well. Takes 3-4 tries just to pop the cap off a bottle - not designed properly.

I love the idea, I love the look, I ordered one for myself, very quickly followed by orders for about three of my friends. There's only one problem; this thing sucks at opening bottles! Initially it typically took more than one try to get a bottle opened, one year later it's now taking 5-6 tries to get a bottle opened. My friends are all reporting similar problems. Clink-N-Drink is a great concept, looks lovely and appears to be high quality, but it cannot open bottles without significant effort. In the end, this product sucks. Don't be duped like me and my friends!

The Clink N Drink Bottle Opener works great! It keeps used bottle caps on the opener instead of the floor.

At first, we loved our CnD. It was hard to not have multiple beers at the office everyday, just for the sheer joy of magnetized bottle cap catching. However, after 1-2 weeks, we fell out of love with our Clink n Drink. Actually, we started loathing the terrible opener that is mounted to the unit.

The problem is that after 1-2 weeks of use, maybe 50-60 beers in total, the metal on the opener starts getting chewed up and it stops actually opening bottles. You need to hit it two or three times, which means you end up foaming beer on the ground, since the first attempt slightly opens the bottle. The 2nd and 3rd attempt, requiring the bottle be placed almost horizontal to fit in the opener, end up dribbling beer everywhere.

For $25 this thing should have a bulletproof opener, not a pot metal piece of junk. I found another replacement opener to mount to the CnD, however it's not a perfect fit and required drilling a hole in the stainless backing plate of the CnD. Plus, it was another $8.

So, steer clear. I recommend a regular opener on a magnet, or just a wall-mount opener of another brand.
