5.0 out of 5 stars I'm useless but not for long, the future's comin' on...
WOW!

What an extremely left field bombardment of the senses. Kudos to the Gorillaz, especially Damon Albarn on the heels of his incredible 'Ravenous' soundtrack, who united music and art with the brilliantly talented Jamie Hewlitt. 3.0 out of 5 stars If you NEED the video...
If you NEED the video you can get this disc. You probably already have Clint Eastwood on the full album. The Ed Case refix is the remix pasted onto the end of the original album in full song form... and it's not that great. Dracula's on the album. But if you HAVE to have the video (which is understandable) and can't download it off the internet, get this disc...

WOW!

What an extremely left field bombardment of the senses. Kudos to the Gorillaz, especially Damon Albarn on the heels of his incredible 'Ravenous' soundtrack, who united music and art with the brilliantly talented Jamie Hewlitt. 'Clint Eastwood' is a great, catchy tune with clever lyrics and oddly inspiring mesh of creative forces. Del's rap through the middle of the song is pretty fresh. All in all just a great breath of fresh air in a time of stale music.

Additionally on this CD is a quicktime movie of the band's video for 'Clint Eastwood' which features incredible art and animation led by Hewlitt. The film work and imagery is really great, and it makes the song even more powerful after a couple viewings. ...

Gorillaz are perhaps the coolest multimedia package yet. Hold your heads up high, guys. You rock.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gorillaz Rock !, April 27, 2001
This review is from: Clint Eastwood (Audio CD)
Funny how I discovered the group. My 5 year old was watching Channel V, an Asian Video channel. He told me about the "sunshine" song. He said there were singing monkeys in it. Of course, that piqued my interest. So, I watched Channel V for a few, and the video came on. Clint Eastwood rocked. Its a very catching and addictive song. Not only for adults, but for 5 year olds as well. I bought the CD right away. I have been told, by the 5 year old, that he likes the slow version of the song the best. I have to agree with him.

Whether you like the fast version or the slow version of this song you have to admit thats its excellent and very catchy. Damon ALbarn lends his vocals on this track which seems to be taking the world by storm due to its originality and top video. If you like this then i recommend their album you wont be dissapointed

4.0 out of 5 stars The new Monkees, April 23, 2001

Gorillaz blends the musical talents of Dan "The Automator" Nakamura, Blur's Damon Albarn, Cibo Matto's Miho Hatori, and the Tom Tom Club's Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz with the arresting visuals of Jamie Hewlett, best known as the creator of the cult comic "Tank Girl".

"Clint Eastwood" is a Mad Professor style dub which would not be out of place on a Tom Tom Club CD. Unfortunately, the manic remix suffers from an extreme case of time compression and the laid back vibe of the original single is obliterated to no good end. "Dracula" gets the groove back on track. The video is a welcome addition and alone is worth the price of admission.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chicks 'n Dudes Gorillaz are really kickin' tunes!, October 19, 2001

This CD is great! I love this song, in fact it is so catchy that I had this song stuck in my head for a month after I first heard it! The remix is a little weird but the original version I highly reccomend. If your a fan of rap, this cd is totally right for you! And when you start listening to the song don't blow it off because of the beginning, you have to listen to the whole song to know if you like it or not. I HIGHLY reccomend this CD for you, the song is catchy and the rappin' is great! You HAVE to get this "I command you to!"

You got the music, and the cool 'Clint Eastwood" video on one CD-pretty good deal. Too bad the video's soundtrack isn't playable on a typical CD audio player (it's slightly different than the single you get) but other than that, no complaints.

Being a fan of Dan Nakamura and Del, the concept of this group got my attention....however I'm very glad that Damon Albarn pulled a lot of weight in the creative process: the only aid he gave in Deltron 3030 was a role in a few skits. 'Clint Eastwood' is one of the best singles I've heard in a long time, and I'm amazed at how many people have gotten into it. This kind of music is the antithesis of what's selling quadrillions of records, and I couldn't be happier.

I bought this CD thinking why 10.99 for a single with only 3 songs, but after I put this CD into my CD-Rom I couldn't stop listening to it, number 2 is a cool dance song, and number 3 is really good just to listen to , and of course number 1 the main reason i bought it, is the number 1 on my list of favorites.

I was at my friends house a couple of weeks ago when I saw the video of "Clint Eastwood" for the first time and immediatly loved it.I had never even herd of the "Gorillaz" before. But I went to the store and bought the album. Now I have all of their albums and can never get their music out of my head.I love Clint Eastwood, along with Ed Case Re-mix, followed by Dracula, very nice and then Clint Eastwood the video. If you want the video or if you can never get the songs Clint Eastwood or Dracula out of your head like me I suggest you get this cd.
