In our freezer, the half-finished bags of frozen veggies are kept sealed with these closures. In the pantry cabinet, we are using these for chip bags, of course, but also to hold a bag of cereal closed, even if still inside the cardboard box.
They take up very little space when in use, if the length of the clip is matched to the size of the bag opening or bag width.
Each "clip" consists of 2 pieces: a cylindrical rod and a U-shaped trough. For some reason each clip has one piece being longer than the other; maybe that makes it easier to peel them apart, when opening the bag.
These bag clips are available in various sizes and set groupings. This specific "Variety 10 Pack" is a good choice for the average household (although we later decided to buy more). This set has 4 different sizes; approximate measurements are listed below:
14" rod and 12 1/2" U-shaped trough, "large" size.
10 1/8" rod and 8 5/8" U-shaped trough, "medium" size.
6 5/8" rod and 5 1/8" U-shaped trough, "small" size.
6 1/8" rod and 5 5/8" U-shaped trough (BTW, this size is thinner in diameter than the others. This might be what they are calling the "tweener" size?).
The package contains at least 2 of each size, and 3 for some sizes (I can't remember which).Read more ›
If you find the large clips too long, cut them in half with a shop knife and you may find them more useful.
I wish I would hae purchased thsee good old clipsthat latch - http://www.amazon.com/13-pc-Clips-Sealer-Coupon-Colors/dp/B005WLI4DC/ref=sr_1_6?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1400208641&sr=1-6&keywords=bag+clips
Something that surprised me - how very useful the teeny tiny very narrow Clip-n-Seal Clips are. I have them on my bags of Miracle-Gro now. It's nice to be SURE nothing will get in or out.
Tip: my wife likes to cut the bag down to size as it empties, then roll the bag a couple times over the middle piece ( spindle? ), before snapping the outer clip on. No open edges for anything to get into.
Yes, they work, yes they seal VERY well, yes you can open the whole bag, and these will seal the whole thing closed. There are some very long clips in the package, the longest is more than enough to clip closed a large bag of popcorn, and the smaller ones work great for bread bags, single sleeves of crackers, etc. This is a great idea that works. And they're seriously easy to use, I don't think there's a lot of "muscle" needed to clip it closed or re-open. I tried the seal out by cutting the top of a large zip-seal bag, putting water in it and closing with the long clip. You can turn it over, around, lie it down on the counter, no leaks.

the clips are too stiff and was hard to clip anything with it.

A bit tricky to figue out initially, but once you get the "hang" of it, they're indispensable. Take up less space than those "chip clips".Published 4 months ago by grannie annie
Fine bargain for the assortment and they're easy to use. Haven't tested them holding liquid but they seem to make a good seal for dry items.Published 5 months ago by High Expectations
