I know this book has been being bashed by adults, saying that this series is putting girls down, and advising people from buying it for their daughters. But when you look at all of the reviews made from the kids, The Clique is getting great ratings. So maybe the adults shouldn't be so judgemental about a series that kids really enjoy, and remind themselves that it's only fiction. I mean, what right to adults have to criticize, saying that these books put teen girls down? That's just an opinion. All the adults reviewing this don't have the same mind as a teen girl, and the reviews show that they obviously think different thoughts.

I'm turning thirteen in less then a week, and I have read all The Clique books besides Dial L for Loser, and intend to order it ASAP. I think that Lisi Harrison has really tapped into something. She's written these books so well, that they seem to be non fiction, as if there based on real events.

But here's the thing. They're not based on real events. I think that's what's got people confused. A fictitous series shouldn't put teen girls down. So what if you're not as wealthy as Massie? So what if you can't afford to shop at BCBG and Bloomingdale's? I'm a Hollister and Abercrombie junkie, and these books sure didnt make me feel bad when I was shopping for flip flops at Abercrombie!

Some girls are Massies, some are Claires. You could be a Massie. Popular, Rich, Beautiful. That could make any girl jealous. But maybe you're Claire. You don't have as much money, and you start out as the Ugly Duckling, who doesn't really fit in in Massie's world. Even though Massie gave Target and Gap a bad name, it didn't stop Claire from wearing platform Keds, and being a part of Massie's infamous Pretty Committee.

This book doesn't make you spend every cent on designer clothing. You're the consumer, and you have the power. You have the power to put down these books. You have the power to walk out of Bloomingdale's empty handed. Why even read them if all they do is make you feel bad? To all of the negative reviewers: Why wouldn't you stop after reading the first book? If you thought they were destined for the trash, why would you read as far as the sixth installment into the series?

If you think that this series sucks, and that they don't deserve your attention, don't give them your attention. But all your doing is frustrating fans of The Clique.

Do you think any buyers will acknowledge your review? If you want to dust away interested buyers, review the first book! Why would a first-time Clique reader buy the sixth book before reading all the others? If someone's come to this page interested in the book, they've probably read the whole series, and a one-star review won't stop them from ordering it!

Don't wallow if your not rich and popular like Massie is! Be inspired by Claire, because she's sending a message that no matter who you are you can fit in with girls like Massie and Alicia.

To all the negative reviewers: I would back off. People aren't going to come to this page unless there going to write a negative review or order the book and comment with positivity. Like I said, if you really want to direct buyers away from this series, then go comment on the first installment.

The geek girl gets chosen for the main role in a major Hollywood movie when several other girls tried out. I enjoyed this book very much and found it very unique because of the realistic characters, interesting plot, and the peculiar settings. I would recommend this book to teenager girls like myself because I don't think many boys would enjoy it as much as a girl. It begins with a clique consisting of four girls: Massie, Alicia, Dylan, and Claire who live in Westchester and go to an all girl school called O.C.D. Massie was the leader of the group and Claire lives on her family's estate because their fathers are friends and Claire's family had moved to Westchester from Florida. Claire's father had gotten a new job and had to move the family. Claire didn't get along with Massie at first but over the previous year they became friends. Dylan's mother was the host of her own television show and had invited the girls to come and meet two guests on her show. They were teen stars Hadley Durk and Abby Boyd who were going to be in a new movie named Dial L for Loser. Before the show Dylan told Massie, Alicia, and Claire that Abby had stolen Hadley's boyfriend and everyone heard so during the show Hadley yelled at Abby and dropped out of the film. The producer of the movie, Rupert Mann, asked to borrow Massie's cell and accidentally never gave it back. Over the next few days the girls heard that he was looking for someone to replace Hadley and they received a call from him asking all of them but Dylan to try out for the part. Kristen's parents wouldn't allow her to go. The girls traveled to Hollywood and while in the studio met one of the other main characters in the film, Conner Foley. Connor was a major teen star and was there to go over the lines with them. After waiting for what seemed like forever to the girls they began to audition. Rupert Mann said that Massie seemed too confident, Alicia too beautiful, and Claire seemed just right for the part. Claire had been treated badly by her peers because of her clothes and how she acted and had done plays in the past so she fit the role of a nerdy girl. Massie and Alicia were going to stay and interview the stars of the movie for Dylan's mother's show but Massie was very angry that she didn't get the part. The girls were going to miss a dance at there school and Claire discovered that her boyfriend was going with her brother. Massie began to treat Claire badly again so Claire began to hang out with Connor and Abby instead. In the film the girl, played by Claire, likes one of the popular guys, played by Connor, and is transformed by one of popular girls, played by Abby and she had to cry a lot throughout the film. Connor and Abby asked how she cried so easily and Claire told them about what Massie and her friends had done to her when Claire had first moved there like making fun of her and they understood. During Claire and Massie's feud, Massie wanted to get back at Claire for telling Abby and Connor about what she had done. While they were practicing one of the kissing scenes Massie pulled out her phone and took a picture and sent it to Claire's boyfriend, Cam and told him that Claire liked Connor. Cam wouldn't talk to Claire when she called him and she became very upset. They finished the filming the movie and had a party to celebrate. Claire realized that Connor and Abby were only her "movie friends" and broke down in tears. Massie comforted Claire back at the hotel and patched up their friendship. When they got home they were welcomed with a party and everyone thought they were cool because of all the pictures of them with Abby and Connor in magazines. Throughout the party, Claire couldn't find Cam. Her brother came up to her and gave her a note from Cam that told her to meet him around back. Massie had told him the truth about the picture and why she had taken it. Cam and Claire were back together and Claire was thinking of appearing in other movies.
The first reason I enjoyed this book of the clique series was the realistic and lifelike characters. Claire was slightly nerdy girl who dressed differently than everyone else. She had trouble making friends because she had just moved there. Massie was the most popular girl in school and the leader of a clique that was respected but disliked by other girls at the school. Abby and Connor were two stars who had been in several movies before so they seemed much more comfortable during the shooting than Claire had. Alicia, Dylan, and Kristen were girls who were similar to Massie who loved to be the center of attention and loved to shop.
Another reason I enjoyed the book because of the interesting plot. The nerdy girl got the part for the main character in the film and her jealous friend tries to ruin it for her. Usually the more popular girl would get the role but in the book the other girls didn't fit the role. Claire was clumsy and peculiar just like the young girl in the movie so she didn't have trouble connecting with her character. The plot of the film was very similar to Claire's life. Claire had been transformed by Massie and her friends and her boyfriend was a popular star of a school soccer team.
The setting was very unique and I thought it very interesting when they described the set at the studio. Through the girls' eyes it seemed as if it was a real neighborhood but it was really the area where most of the shooting would be done. The set even had a school where a lot of the shooting was done. Most of the book takes place in Hollywood on the set, hotel room, or a party and I found all the areas really detailed and creative.
The novel was actually very interesting and I thought it was one of my favorite books. I believe that most teenager girls would enjoy the book more than adult or any men would. It would appeal to girls more because the characters talk about shopping and boys more than anything else. The original characters, peculiar setting, and unique plot were some of the many reasons I liked this novel of the Clique series.

omg this book was the best one yet. i loved it, i couldnt put it down. i finnished it in like 2 days. im 15 and i always thout that this book was 4 younger girls bc there in 7th grade. but as each book goes on they get more and more mature. they are way more mature then i ever was in 7th grade. but i didnt like how massie was SOOOOOOO MEAN to claire in this one. i was like screaming at her throught the book haha. i think some of the things that massie and alicia did to clair, out of jelousy was a little 2 much. i think they went to far. but i guess thats wat made me like it this much bc most of the time iwas like shouting "OMG! how can she do that to her best friend?!?" haha. cant wait 4 the next one to come out

I think the book is really wonderful. This series get better and better!! Lisi Harrison writes great new twists to the story, that you don't expect!

Let's be honest. These books are trashy. Twelve year old girls charging designer clothes on their credit cards with nothing better to do than chase boys and look hawt. Puh-lease. These books show girls with bad values, anorexic-like eating habits (lol. just kidding, sort of..but come on, they're twelve years old..do they need to be on fad diets and stuff?), vicious, gossipy "friends", tons of money, and tons of other things. So, like I said, trashy. Right? Now here's the sad part: I actually like reading these books. It's shameful, but reading about this elite N.Y. clique is really fun. Come on, what teen girl doesn't like to read about cute boys, ah-dorable fashions, friends, gossip, shopping, and all that other great teen stuff. As long as girls don't start to get influenced by Massie, Alicia, etc. and think that being mean and buying designer threads will make them cool. Um, are those girls vampires? Then why are they in the dark? Girls should know that money and gossip doesn't give you happiness and that the brand of your jeans doesn't matter. Once girls know that, then these books are totally fun to read. Parents, we know this series isn't exactly good literature...but think of it as candy for the brain. We all need a little sweet stuff in our lives...except for Massie, Alicia, and Dylan..cuz that would make them totally fat, right? Ehmahgawd!!! Okay, in conclusion, these books are trashy and somewhat unrealistic (how many 12 year olds do you know who wear Ralph Lauren?)..yet fun to read. Given!

This book is probably my fav in the series! I love how my favorite character, Claire, gets to finally be in the spotlight! If you've read the rest of the series, namely the previous book, you already know that Massie, Claire, Alicia, Dylan, and Kristen got expelled from OCD school. (Sorry to reveal it!!!) What happens is this: After getting to go on Dylan's mom's show, "The Daily Grind", Massie, Claire and Alicia get invited to go to Hollywood to audition for a new teen movie "Dial L for loser". (Dylan and Kristen can't go, on account of punishments for being expelled.) Immediately, the girls are thrown into a world of fame and movie-making as they audition for the movie and meet a hot co-star. But only one of the girls gets the part and it's Claire! But don't forget that Cam, Claire's boyfriend/friend back in Westchester, is hoping that she won't fall for a teen star. What happens if she does? That I'm not going to reveal! If you want to find out the ending, read a very good book about girl friendships, or just learn about cliques, I highly recommend this book and this series.

Dial L for Loser
I am doing my book report on Dial L for Loser which is written by Lisi Harrison and it is fiction. Dial L for Loser is about five girls who get expelled for running into the woods with no adult supervision. It was a great book. They get to go to New York to be in a movie. Claire, Massie, and Alicia get to ride in a private jet where when you go to the bathroom you can see the people but they can't see you. Claire gets the part as the loser in the movie Dial L for Loser, and Massie and Alicia get to be the behind the scenes camera crew. Massie and Alicia get to film the stars behind the stage. Claire gets to hang out with all the cool stars and a cute guy. Massie and Alicia get to go to Conner's house. While they are at his house and they are fighting a camera crew takes their pictures and they aren't pretty. Massie and Alicia are pretending to be Claire's friend so they can hang out with the stars. Claire is dating a really sensitive guy named Cam who gets really mad when she has to kiss Conner for the movie. What Cam gives to Claire all the time is a pack of gummies. Since the girls stared in a movie all the big designers give them free cloths. I liked the book a lot it was really good. I liked how they talked about how they had attitude. This book is really funny. I liked how Lisi Harrison used certain words to describe the girls and how they like and react around people. It was really good. I would read the other books in the series first.

In this book Massie, Claire, and Alicia are given the chance to go to L.A. to try out for the new movie Dial L for Loser while Dylan and Kristen are stuck in Westchester. While in L.A. all three girls try out for the part and Claire gets it and Massie is not happy so she and Alicia do VERY VERY mean things to Claire such as the following:
Do a live interview inside her trailer and pull out gross things like wart remove stuff like that on national television
Send Claires boyfriend, Cam, a pic of her doing a scene making out with Conner Foley for the movie telling Cam its real
and just basically being bitchy the whole book. Claire is my favorite character since I can relate to her but in this book i was a little disappointed because she acts more snobby *sigh* massie is getting to her. In the end though they all make up *again!* and Claire has a very big decision to make but I dont wanna spoil the ending all in was a really good book in the series so i give it 4 1/2 stars

As a 13 year old girl I personally LOVE this series! And guess what all of my friends do too and guess what again they aren't mean and spoiled either! All im saying is even though the characters in this series are a little bit mean and spoil you have to trust the pre-teens in your life that they won't copy the attitudes of the girl characters. Besides the cattiness of the characters it's really insitful to see how the mind of a pre-teen girl works. And how good these girls are at attacking every one's ultimate fear of being rejected or alone. But I recommend this to pre-teen girls who love fashion,drama,designer clothes,boys,friendships, and yes of course cliques.
