My mom bought me this book yesterday, and I thought it was so good that I finished it within 30 minutes. It really told me a lot about cliques, and friends. I've never been in one, and I wouldn't want to be in one, but I've always been excluded by them, and made fun of, so this was a great book. It told me that even though people in cliques act like they're cool, really they're just looking for a group of people to hang around with so they look tougher.

I think this is a great book for any kid/teenager who is either involved in cliques, or excluded by cliques. This is a great book for both, and a must read for anyone who has met up with cliques and phonies.

As an educator (elementary principal), I see students faced daily with decisions that place them to either leave someone out, or they themselves, are left out. Trevor does a fabulous job of explaining how/why a "clique" can be hurtful. Students learn how to spot "a fake", how to make and keep friends, popularity truths/myths, and tips for cliques/friendships. The book is "kid friendly" and an easy-read. At the end of 2006, this book should be made into a dvd and we can't wait! If you are not familar with Trevor's other books/dvds, make sure you check them out. They are a great resource for students - whether you are an educator or a parent.

This book changed my life our forth grade teacher read it to the class after we'd been having troble with cliques. evrything the book talks about is true now we solve our clique problems with out using names or using examples from the book to put the bullys in the bullyed shoes.

I teach fifth grade and we always show Trevor Romain's video first, then read the book together. It is not really for kids any older than 5th grade. The book is very light reading, fast and easy to read, lots of drawings. Sometimes it is repetitive but that's because kids often need to see the same thing over and over until it sinks in. I recommend this book for ages 9 to 11.

This was a bit more simplisitc than I expected. However, this would be good for the elementaryt age set. Not complex enough for what middle school kids are going through.

i'd say is mostly for little kids because of the tone and because is a very small book (i read it in 10 minutes) and because it assumes the reader is a kid :)

but quite educative. tells a lot. for example popular kids are just like any other kid but popular kids wear a nicer looking mask.

This was a wonderful boook told in a humorous way. If you have a child in the pre-teen years that is puzzled by "cliques" at school....this book tells it perfectly!

Playground politics; office groups; clannishness among classmates; internet discussion board coteries/cliques - they do exist. Cliques don't end in childhood. Adults also encounter cliques on a routine basis, on line and in person, e.g. jobs and social organizations. Cliques and cliquish behavior are reinforced by constantly praising the same people and, in the case of the internet, posting on and/or starting threads that publicly laud and applaud the same people.

I like the way this book explains clique creations and dynamics. I have always wondered how cliques get started; who calls the shots and how one rises to social power in order to start a clique and how to be more than just a satellite if in a clique, but not the leader of one.

Kind of reminds you of Dobie Gray's 1965 song, "The In-Crowd." That song's lyrics describe clique behavior to a certain degree.

I bought it for my 7 year old, and love the book, but the book targets the older child, I would say ages 9 and up. Very good book though, I was able to read it to my child, and explain cliques etc. He understand it, which is good, but still has lots of questioning, typically normal of a 7 year old.

Great basic book for my fifth grader. She read it quickly, understood the content, and it helped her to understand what's going on with her friends a bit better. Well written, basic, and not overloaded with details, which is perfect for this age group. She said she will read it again. I read it too and was impressed!
