5.0 out of 5 stars VERY HAPPY
2 awesome movies. The Wizard is an amazing film about 2 brothers and a runaway girl that make their way to National Video Game Championships in Los Angeles, while trying to avoid Putnam along the way. CLoak and Dagger is a must watch with your father... by the end of the movie you will both understand each other a litle better I think :)

2.0 out of 5 stars One subtitled for the deaf, other not subtitled or captioned
I bought this from a bargain bin at a local store because I liked both movie. However I was put off when I checked the back, and only Wizard has SDH (English subtitle for the deaf). I bought it anyway as I wanted to replace the last few remaining VHS tapes I still have.

The Wizard is subtitled as labeled on the back (English only, no other subtitle...

I remember watching these movies as a child and love them just as the first time I saw them. This combo pack was one of the main selling points to me.

2.0 out of 5 stars One subtitled for the deaf, other not subtitled or captioned, July 22, 2011
This review is from: Cloak and Dagger/The Wizard Double Feature (DVD)
I bought this from a bargain bin at a local store because I liked both movie. However I was put off when I checked the back, and only Wizard has SDH (English subtitle for the deaf). I bought it anyway as I wanted to replace the last few remaining VHS tapes I still have.

The Wizard is subtitled as labeled on the back (English only, no other subtitle language). Cloak and Dagger does not have subtitle or closed captioning :( I really want to get rid of my old VHS collection but companies like Universal are too cheap to make it all in closed captioned or subtitled for the deaf.

The lack of subtitle or closed captioning for half a DVD set and the lack of any other extra feature is why I am giving this one only 2 stars. It would have been 1 star if The Wizard wasn't subtitled.

This is a very profitable DVD including two similar movies consering video game. Cloak and Dagger is a little suspenseful and the Wizard is a little heart warming. Both of them are worth to see the good actings of young boy actors.

4.0 out of 5 stars A cute movie from the 1980's, September 5, 2009
This review is from: Cloak and Dagger/The Wizard Double Feature (DVD)
First of all, I am reviewing only Cloak & Dagger. I have not seen The Wizard, and will probably never watch it. I only bought this for the first movie.

This is a cute little movie. The cast is wonderful, and the story keeps you guessing. I watched this when it first came out, and have owned it on VHS. And at least once a year I find myself dragging it back out to watch again.

I think the only problem is that the children were to young to be playing an RPG. 6-10 is to young to really understand the complexities for the vast majority of a game like Top Secret or Dungeons & Dragons.

But it was a cute movie, with a sympathetic single father, something you normally do not see in a movie. I recommend this to anybody.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cloak And Dagger-Yes, The Wizard- No, April 4, 2009

I saw both these movies when I was a kid, and when I found out that my wife hadn't seen Cloak And Dagger, I went bargain hunting on Amazon. I found this "Double Feature" Cloak and Dagger/Wizard Combo and went for it. Before I did I saw this review about the Wizard being full of "foul language" and sexual innuendo but figured whoever wrote it was crazy! I didn't remember anything weird from when I saw it as a kid...

Cloak And Dagger: Great story. I loved it for the nostalgia, and my wife loved it too even though she hadn't seen it as a kid.

The Wizard: I gotta be honest. That "crazy" reviewer was totally right. At one point the little girl almost gets caught by the bounty hunter, but gets out of it by claiming that he sexually assaulted her... It was just weird and a little disturbing. There was a little bit of nostalgia value in seeing the old video games, but it was more than undone by the other stuff. No thanks. Besides, it's pretty much Rainman with kids.

1.0 out of 5 stars Purchase Cloak & Dagger by itself!, November 23, 2008

This review is from: Cloak and Dagger/The Wizard Double Feature (DVD)
"Cloak & Dagger" is an outstanding movie. It was typical 80's so it's a little corny, but it's a good story with no foul language or explicit scenes nor innuendos. It provides some insight into children's hearts who've lost a parent. Very heart warming and very well put together. And who couldn't love the location? San Antonio is a beautiful city and the scenery is spectacular. Good family viewing. Cloak & Dagger is a 10 Star movie.

"The Wizard" on the other hand leaves a bad taste in your mouth and should leave a bad soapy taste in the mouth of the child actors who starred in it. I purchased it as a double feature with "Cloak & Dagger" for my daughter. After previewing it, I was unable to let her watch it because of the foul language and sexual innuendos through out the movie. It was a cute story, which would have worked, had the producers left out the filth. This is not recommended viewing for children...or anyone for that matter. The Wizard owes me some stars.
