NOT clock-accurate sundials,
By Scot McDermid (Concord, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Making a Clock-Accurate Sundial Customized to Your Location (for the Northern Hemisphere) (Paperback)
This book describes making a simple horizontal sun-dial witha angled gnomon (the shadow casting thingy). For "clock-accuracy" you have to look up an error offset in a chart. The "equation of time" is not built into the the design. The book intentionally skips over the mathematics involved. I found more information by searching the internet for "analemmic sundial" than I found in this book. |
