Looks like ClockStone Studio fixed the crashing issue since 2012... but I guess they added in IAP too.

On the surface, the IAP inclusion seemed to be for honest-to-goodness DLC, an entire world stage available for another $1.99... yet after opening it, I discover it also includes a In-App Purchasable coin system (60 coins for $1.99). An "update" added the HELP system, which in fact is the IAP-driven coin system. And of course the hint system is stepped, meaning you have to spend multiple coins if for any reason you want to see the full solution. That would be fine - if IAP coins weren't involved.

"+++ New update with help function", but leaves out the coin aspect completely in the product description with the only mention of IAP being "SlopeMania is now available as a low-price In-App Purchase!". Furthermore, when I looked at the IAP for SlopeMania DLC, it said "Get 10 free coins for hints und [sic] free build mode" You get the same idea that I am getting? That the Free Build Mode uses the IAP-driven coin system too? So we have that fine line of possibly acceptable DLC and greedy IAP being blurred, trodden, and washed down the drain, and all slyly written to skew and minimize Amazon's IAP tag, leaving the revelation of the full extent of the IAP presence after you purchased and opened the game. That right there is what I hate.

Game also contains Flurry Ads AND Flurry Analytics, and although generally speaking the analytics is generally restricted to anonymous data reporting from the device, there is a "Post on Facebook" that, with Flurry in the mix, these days seem to me a potential (and undesirable) method of profile mining.

Too much bleah in a game that cost two bucks.

Installed and automatically moved off my Device Memory at a total of 33.48MB, 2.52MB on Device Memory. Does run OFFLINE, and the back-key prompts a QUIT screen for a clean exit.

Game play:
An Island nation is in trouble as an earthquake destroyed all of their bridges and they cannot get around the island chain. Are you up to the task of helping team rebuild their bridges and return to their way of life? There are 5 islands that need your help and the Westlands is where you are going to start first. You have to build 6 bridges to help Westlands get going again.

You get a brief set of instructions before you start the first level and you have to use the materials at hand and stay under budget. Remember you have a lot of bridges to build. You have to test your bridge and make sure that it is safe and if trucks can cross you get an added bonus. At the end of every level it asks you to post your results on Facebook.

The graphics are very good and the scenery is especially good. You can pan and zoom into the bridge to gain more control and see the construction site better. You can also adjust the angle of your viewing to get a better perspective. The controls are well designed.

Home screen:
* Play
* Credits - shows you the game and takes you to the developers web site
* New game - erases game progress
* Check mark turns off the sound

What I like:
The game has beautiful graphics and the physics in the game are fun to watch as they are applied to your design. The stress points on the bridge turn red indicating that the stress in the design and materials is too high.

As you progress through the app it adds in the ability to use more sophisticated construction materials. You start with only wood but you add steel cable, concrete and girders. They progressively get stronger but also pricier so you have to watch your budget.

3.0 out of 5 stars No for Kindle User October 22, 2012

I agree with others about the controls being difficult and the frustration of the Wifi requirement. Bridge Hashed is a better app for Kindle users control-wise, also not requiring Wifi, however it is more difficult. I don't hate this app, it just doesn't work well on the Kindle Fire.

Excellent Bridge Building app. Awesome 3D Graphics and you can PAN and ZOOM to suite your taste. The Controls work SMOOTHLY but placement and locking-in building materials can be a little quirky. Fortunately, there is a REDO Button or you can Double Tap to Remove items. The PHYSICS are Excellent and Realistic. Compared to a half dozen similar apps I have tried, this is the Best. Music and Sounds are OK. If you like Physics games, you may LOVE this one. It is LAGGY when changing scenes but not during building process. Addons Detector shows OpenFeint on this app but it may have been disabled since I see no sign of it so far. I see NO serious Problems or Annoyances so I would definitely Recommend this well designed app.

I don't play this because it always tells me to upgrade the game. Not worth the hassle, don't purchase. Waste of money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Internet Connection Required to Play February 21, 2013
Verified Purchase
I was waiting in line and looking for something to pass the time, so I decided to check out this game that I'd installed as a Free App of the Day but never used yet. I was unable to use this app because there was no WiFi access at that location.

My Android devices are WiFi only, so I do not have access to the net in establishments that don't offer WiFi. WiFi is NOT ubiquitous in the central US, so I got a message that the game requires the internet to play and it exited.

If I'm at home, I have other devices for gaming and don't bother picking up my Android units. As such, this game is worthless to me in the places where my Android devices see use, since they aren't able to connect if WiFi isn't available.
