Book Description

March 2002

What if You Had the Power to Stop Time?

Seventeen-year-old Zak Gibbs knows how to work the system. With a little creativity, an old, thrown-out typewriter can become a "Crash Proof Word Processor" and get him $25 closer to driving his dream car. But when notices a watch in a junk box from his physicist father's workbench, he has no idea what a real treasure he's found.

At the push the timepiece sends him into "hypertime," a state of super-fast movement that makes everyone else appear frozen. Zak has fun with his new ability to play pranks without being seen and impress his aloof crush, Francesca. But the situation soon turns serious when his father is kidnapped by the ruthless creators of the top secret device. Now Zak's battling the clock to protect his family...and save the world from an invisible foe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Time travel fun, May 21, 2004
By A Customer
I enjoyed the movie and the novel, both for different reasons. But if you're a fan of chases through time like Crichton's "Timeline" or Stember's "Twilight", then you'll enjoy this. My personal favorite has allways been Wells' "The Time Machine", but Hedden's "Clockstoppers" is much more on the "light side" of Time Travel, and a fun read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Book, June 2, 2002
By
I loved this book it is an awesome book. It is the best book i havent read in my life. If u like all that stuf of stoping time and making fun of people while u are moving and their not. I think this is a book for all ages not only for 9-12. I think that teenagers and adultst also have a good imagination and they like to have fun with things that are crazy or almost imposible to do. U will have a grate time reading this novel. I suggest that when u finish reading it see the movie. It would be fun because u will see what u imagine while u where reading the book. Dont think it anymore AND BUY IT.

Have FUN.
