Best Blaze yet!,
By Real Music Lover "J-Man" (Wilmore, Ky USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Clockwork Gray (Audio CD)
Clockwork Grey is easily Blaze's best work to date. Here is my opinion on the tracks:
1.Intro-Really wicked sounding intro done by Madrox. 5/5 2.Crypt Keeper-Good beat and nice chorus done by Madrox, but song is too short. 3/5 3.Blaze Up-Decent song. I like Blaze's flow and ROC does a decent chorus, but the beat is kinda plain. 3/5 4.Toe Tags-Probably my favorite song on the cd. Blaze and Madrox mesh so well together in the studio. Wicked concept and the beat is hard as hell. 5/5 5.Ill Connect-Blaze and The ROC on some gangsta s**t. ROC kills it on this song. Beat isn't great, but good enough. 4/5 6.Keep It Simple-Best song next to Toe Tags. Kutt Kalhoun and Big B make great guest appearances on this one, and the beat is simply amazing. 5/5 7.Some Of Them Thugs-Good song about people you wouldn't want to mess with in the street. Monoxide adds some great flavor, as usual. Beat is pretty good. 4/5 8.Eggplant-Song about sex with fat girls. I like Blaze's flow on this one, but the chorus sucks and I'm not much for the beat, which samples an old super nintendo game called Zombies Ate My Neighbors. 2/5 9.Time Zones-Blaze givin some luv to the juggalos. Violent J is usually pretty good, but he falls kind of flat on this song and the beat isn't that great. 2/5 10.Always Acting-Great song about wanna be's. Features Twiztid and The ROC. Good beat. 5/5 11.Dead Neck-Blaze and Boondox in the cemetary having sex with dead girls, classic juggalo necrophelia song. Great lyrics but average beat. 3/5 12.Escape Artist-Definetly a different style for Blaze. Slower paced beat and he actually sings on this one. Sounds whack if you haven't heard it, but it's pretty good. 5/5 13.Wishing Well-Great song by Blaze and Madrox. About trying to wish your problems away. 5/5 14.Zodiac-A preview of Blaze and ROC's upcoming project. Wasn't really feeling the rock style for either one of them. 2/5 Overall, a very good album from the dead man. Highly recomended!

I like this album, and it has some ill songs. I just wish it stuck to this "Clockwork Gray" concept more... It goes off in directions that don't relate at all to the storyline so to speak at times. Not my favorite blaze album, I like his first 2 to 3 releases more.

Blaze Up....For Clockwork Gray..!,

This review is from: Clockwork Gray (Audio CD)
This has been a long time coming! I am a huge Blaze fan! The "Intro" is brilliantly done by Jamie Madrox, getting us ready for the tales of Blaze! "The Crypt Keeper" is Blaze protecting all family, namely 'the dead', and it's a gangsta ballad. He's coming back to the 'hood to collect. "Blaze Up" is giving homage to all the people, including juggalos who have his back! Yes, I have had mad love for Blaze for real and we gotta get ours and protect it! "Toe Tagz, N' Body Bagz" is a straight gangsta ballad. The R.O.C gives sweet as supporting vocals! Jamie Madrox is sweet on this as well! Madrox is backing up Blaze on the real tip!
"Ill Connect" has Blaze & The R.O.C. straight thuggin'. These cats are trying to get their ends. If anyone gets in their way, well, they straight get ganked! "Keep It Simple" keeps us in the simple pleasures of life. I mean, just chillin and hangin'. However, if anyone wants to step up, they can get straight jacked! Big B is razor sharp on his parts, Kutt Calhoun adds more gangsta flows, this song is true to how gangstas are.. "Some Of Them Thugz" has our boys Monoxide and Blaze fighting anyone if they have to. Madrox adds fresh flava to the chorus. "Eggplantz" is my favorite song on the CD! Its has some old school beats and it's about pimpin' fat ho's. Get that night train and go to town! The R.O.C adds funny flava to the chorus. (Slap, Slap Slap). "Zip Codez N' Time Zones" has our dead homie on the road, showing mad love to all the juggalos. No matter where they go, they get love from all the juggalos. Violent J has smooth vocals here, showing his respect as well. "Inside Looking Out" had Blaze mashing with the Samhein Witch Killas (formerly House Of Krazees), they are exposing posers, you know, as we as family call them, 'juffalos'. We are coming to get you, so step off! "Deck Neck" is a freaky tale of having sex with dead girls. The zombie girls come out to play, BoonDox adds a southern feel to the creepy motif of this song, all about necrophiliac lovin'. "Escape Artist" has our homie getting himself out of trouble. It has some old school 70s style gangsta flow on the chorus. "Wishing Well" starts cool, Jamie Madrox has great poetry recital going on. I get that we have to make our choices, but wishing in the well, sort of shows us where we can go, but we all have to find the road there! Jamie Madrox adds a smooth flow to this rap. This CD ends with a preview of a new group started by Blaze & The R.O.C. called Zodiac MPrint. The song is called " E.O.D (Evolve Or Die)". This is a different direction for Psychopathic, sort of the old House Of Krazees days. I guess the style is supposed to be rap, rock, and some techno added. Now, I am on the fence on this. I mean the lyrics are fresh, but the rock genre doesn't really suit either of them. I think this should be more of a gangsta tone, but like the song says, evolve or die, so I am opened to new ideas. This is definitely Blaze's best work to date. It has gangsta vibes, smooth flows, and a true thug agenda. This is how Blaze should have started in the first place. This should have been Blaze's first CD! If his next ones are anything remotely like this, then Blaze will be around for quite some time! Much love to Blaze on this, he put his whole heart and soul in this CD and it has paid off, THIS IS Blaze's best work!

Whether or not you're a Juggalo this disc should not be missed, every song tells a story. Blaze successfully branches out to different styles, brilliantly. You can just tell he took time on this one, not to say he didnt on previous LP's, just get this disc, unless you're a hater you wont be disappointed.

Considering the quality of the work on this album, this price is a steal. Amazing beats, catchy lyrics, raw delivery, and all around superior compared to most new rap that's out there. The R.O.C. really shines on this release as well, so bxtch recognize that these two artists are SLEPT ON badly. GET THIS ALBUM!!
