GREAT MACHINE ALMOST PERFECT,

This coffee maker is almost perfect, would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the capacity. It only makes just over 8 cups which goes quick if you have more than 1 coffee drinker in the house.Other than that, it is well built, looks nice, is very quick and quiet to brew. The control buttons work well, are easy to push. It doesn't have a warmer plate, however the carafe is extremely well insulated and will keep the pot warm for several hours without the need of the plate. The big bonus is the removeable holding tank which allows you to easily clean it either by hand or in the dishwasher. I would recommend this to anyone.

Good Coffee but it's not 10 cups,
By
This review is from: Cloer Coffee Maker
First - it makes a real good cup of coffee - 12 water jets to saturate the grinds extracts full flavor, yummy!I bought this coffee maker because of the removable water tank and also because the tank is easy to clean. So many makers out there have impossible to clean water tanks. The other reason was the thermal carafe and the fact that the opening is large enough to fit your hand inside when you clean it. I had the Cuisinart Grind n' Brew and the thermal carafe was impossible to clean because the opening was to small. This and the fact that it started leaking a cup of water from the bottom while it brewed, and the many parts to clean...but that's a review for a later time. This Cloer Coffee maker would be perfect if not for 2 reasons. #1 - It does not make 10 cups, it makes 8. I contacted the seller and he said it was indeed 10 cups and the 8 line level on the water tank was a mis-print. Ummm...ok?! He said he would get back to me and I'm still waiting. I will mention that the product was shipped quickly - well before the expected ship date and the product was in excellent condition (i.e boxes not damaged, no defects) I called the USA distributor and they said that it is 10 cups if we were in Germany (where this is made). The woman said the Germans make 5 ounces for a cup of coffee and the water tank holds 50 ounces. Again...Ummm...ok?! By the way I live in Brooklyn, NY and bought this in the USA from a company in the USA advertised on a USA website. THEY SHOULD NOT ADVERTISE THIS AS 10 CUPS, IT IS AN 8 CUP COFFEE MAKER! #2 - The coffee does not stay very hot in the carafe. I will mention again that the coffee is delicious and brews quickly, approximately 6 minutes for a full pot.

i like the way it looks and the removable water tankbut the pot drips when pouring a cup of coffee - i tried everything - still drips and it is not built that well - it feels flimsy the box says it is an 8 cup coffee maker and had a sticker over it that says makes 10 cups but the tank says 8 cups max and the pot only holds 8 cups the coffee is not that hot - even at 8 cups - luke warm the instructions say rinse pot with hot water to warm the pot if you are making 4 cups or less are you kidding me?

Typically European Coffee Maker,

Pretty decent coffee maker. The cup capacity is 8 cups(its european what did ya expect ;p) which is isn't a problem for me. Style reminds me of the nice philips maker I had in europe, typical german design with the carafe and water tank side by side. While the temperature is quite hot initially, the thermal carafe will keep it warm for only 3-4 hours max(philps pulled off 7 hours), so keep that in mind. Overall though, a sturdy design, and infact rather compact in hight, especially when compared to the bosch/porsche or the delonghi with a similar style. The lighted water tank is gimmicky but still cool(it'll only light when its brewing so no wasting energy). The fact that you can can take it off the machine to fill up is a very handy feature. In addition the water tank has the ability to take Brita MAXTRA filters, the same ones for example in the Tassimo Machines. I'm not sure why they don't advertise that fact. Comes with an auto brew timer(hot coffee in the morning :D), and auto off(thermal carafe) and a red led clock. You can also pull the carafe out while its brewing if you really need to get some coffee, and brew time is about 6 minutes. Also it has a crazy 14 head shower for the coffee grinds. Haven't had any problems with the carafe leaking, its a pretty solid design, tilt the carafe, press the button to pour, let go of the button to stop pouring, and then tilt the carafe back onto the counter. If you don't mind 8 cups and don't need coffee warmer longer than 4 hours, this is a nice attractive desgin that's worth the price. *the swing out filter basket uses paper filters or gold permament filters of size #4, it does not come with any. I personally bought a braun #4 gold filter, works well with this machine, and it keeps everything nice and wet as its slightly more vertical in shape.

If asthaetics are important to you, you'll love the way it looks. I've only had it for a couple of months, but so far I am very pleased. It is certainly too early to comment on durability. Yes, saying it makes 10 cups is a stretch, but otherwise it works great. It is very quiet, relatively fast, and you can fill a cup while its brewing. Personally I like the thermal carafe because I don't have to remember to turn the warmer off. Once the brew cycle is done, you can simply forget about it. The coffee will stay plenty warm for at least 2 hours after it's done.Good luck finding one though. I had orders cancelled or backordered from 2 previous vendors before I actually found one. Either this is a discontinued item and I just got lucky and found one that was leftover, or they make so few, no one can keep them in inventory. One more thing, the instructions make no mention of what type or size filter to use, so you'll have to figure that one out on your own.

cloer-made in china,
This review is from: Cloer Coffee Maker
I was told by the seller, Ultimate Nourishment, that it was German made, as I was looking for a European made machine. After receiving it, I find it stamped Made in China. The stainless looks nice. The plastic parts are of very cheap quality. When you try to remove the carafe after brewing and try to put it back, it gets hung up on the plastic coffee strainer due to the expansion of the cheap plastic. It finishes brewing at an OK temperature but only stays hot for 30 minutes. After that it's not enjoyable to drink unless you nuke it. You have to pour the carafe slowly or it will leak. It doesn't come with a stainless strainer. It does not brew 10 cups like advertised. The water tank has an 8 cup MAX line on it.

I researched them all. This is the only one that had 100% positive ratings except for the fact that it is indeed an 8 cup not a 10 cup pot. For me that's not a problem and making a second pot, if needed, is super fast and very quiet. It's sturdy, easy to clean and retains heat for a long time. I've used a gold filter and the white paper ones and I prefer the paper ones since the gold filter does overspill some grounds into the pot and I think the coffee tastes better using paper. Exceptional price for such a well made product. I highly recommend!
