Bought this item for my grand-nephew and he loves it. We bought a more expensive one a while ago and it cannot compare with this one. Has great sounds and color! Recommend it highly!

My gransons have the 'force action' lightsabers circled 3 times on their wish lists. I know that I will not disappoint them no matter what. But living on a 'retirement' income...I have to really search hard for the very best price tags. I also have to factor in any other related costs like shipping....taxes...and handling. I had 2 of these toys in my Amazon shopping cart today. I say almost because I decided to do a final comparison search. This is one of the few times that Amazon was not competitive this year. Turns out that Wal-Mart has all their'force action' lightsaber models priced at $15. Yes...I will have to pay a sales tax but it will not balance out the difference between the WalMart price vs the Amazon price. Amazon had only one of their LS models priced at $19.99 w/prime. All their other models were $21 and more. WAY MORE ! Guess it really does pay to comparison shop and then do the math.

Better than the ones that don't pop out?,
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars

The only problem I have with this toy - it's not bright enough. We had a couple of the older lightsabers that ran on 'C' batteries, these run on 3 AAA's. I was actually happy to discover this until I realized the thing isn't very bright unless the kids play in the dark - which they could do anyway. And these are spring activated, they pop out of the handle. Another issue - half the time when they pop out, they don't turn on, and you have to activate the light and sound by pressing the button again(same button, there's just one on the handle). If your kids would be fine with the cheaper ones, just go with that. They seem sturdy, but we just bought them, so only time will tell. If you need light, sound, and spring activation, go with this lightsaber, but you'll plunk down at least twice as much money.
