Is your consciousness part of your body? Are you an individual if you are the clone of someone else? Has the Mind been finally killed by Science after Myths and Gods? Does your name matter?

This book will rather ask you about these issues than answer them. Yet it is a powerful tool to discard Dogmatism, would it be in the scientific community as well as in our own, hidden, 'closet mysticism'.

A must-read for those that are not afraid to question themselves about their perception of the human body.

First and foremost, this book reads like a movie. That's both good and bad. It's good because the story just plays out in front of your eyes and you can't stop reading. It's bad because it ends way too quickly, leaving you wanting more.

CLONE has all the elements of a good Hollywood movie: great characters, crime, mystery, drama, comedy and even some romance. But it has much more than just that. Beneath the fun layers are socio-political issues that are timely and worth thinking about, like corruption of government by corporations or the ethical boundaries of science and technology.

We may not yet have cloned human beings (to our public knowledge, at least), but human clones are a perfect metaphor for scientific technologies that, once unleashed upon our society, may change it in ways that cannot be predicted or controlled, especially in our age of neoliberalism and deregulation.

With that said, the book does not actually take a stand on these issues. Instead it presents them from several perspectives and asks you to make up your mind about them, which is what all good fiction should do. All of the story's characters have their own truths and justifications that make the issues in question far from being black and white matters. It is rare to see such complexity presented in such a fun way.

Clone is a great book for the thirsty reader (like myself). It's not every day you get to read a good book like this, I mean I just couldn't put the thing down. You want action, you got it. You want lust, it's in there. You want something that will have you thinking about the meaning to life, B A M, Clone. Read It!! It was the perfect blend of many topics like the self, religion, homosexuality, cloning, and the ethics of life....kinda like a really good smoothie.

Hard to put down. Given the rapid rate of change in biotechnology, a timely book which deals with deep questions about identity and ethics, while being, in parts, a racy action novel.
Sniff code likes to make us challenge our deep seated prejudices, in his writings generally, and this book is no exception.

This book will not answer that question but it will make you ask questions you never thought to ask before. A great read you should definitively not miss.
