Charge Batteries for Cars, SUVs, Jet Skis, and More

Using the 4506, you can charge virtually every vehicle battery in your garage--from car, truck, and SUV batteries to motorcycle and jet ski batteries. This makes the device extremely versatile for home use. The 4506 offers multiple charge rates and is compatible with conventional lead-acid car batteries, AGM batteries, gel cell batteries, spiral wound batteries, deep cycle batteries, and marine batteries.

Automatic, Multi-State Charging Process

The 4506 uses a proprietary, multi-stage charging algorithm to optimally charge and maintain your vehicle batteries. First the battery is brought automatically to a full charge. Then the charger enters a maintenance mode, keeping the battery in an optimal state until it is needed. Unlike other battery chargers, the 4506 has an override features that enables it to charge batteries that have been deeply drained--for instance, if you left on your car lights. The device is fully automatic--just indicate the battery type and your desired charge rate, and it does the rest.

Monitor the Battery with Ease

LED indicators on top of the 4506 indicate the battery charge level--25 percent, 50 percent, 75 percent, or 100 percent--allowing you to easily track the charging process.

Safety Features to Protect You and Your Battery

The 4506 comes equipped with numerous features to keep you and your battery safe during the charging process. Reverse polarity protection guards against reverse connections, while battery fault protection prevents the device from excessively charging compromised batteries. Smart clamp technology sends power to the output leads only when a proper battery connection has been made. The charger also includes short circuit protection to avoid shorted connections.

The 4506 is backed by a one-year limited warranty.

You just select the type of battery you have and the correct voltage, plus whether you want a faster charge at 6amp, or slower at 2amp, and hit go.

Its not overly complicated, it is very quite, especially compared to old chargers, its small and works good.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
This is a trickle charger to maintain batteries. It is NOT a jump starter. You need to plug this into an outlet in order to use it. The cord is not very long, probably less than 5 feet. I used this outdoors to charge my 2005 Toyota Corolla and had to plug it into an extension cord. You should not charge the batteries inside without ventilation as gases could come out of the battery and a small spark could cause a fire.

My Corolla had not been driven in over a month and when I plugged this in, it said my battery was at 75%. It took a little under 6 hours to get a full 100% charge under the "standard 12V, 6 Ampere" setting.

It's pretty simple to use. You just select the type of battery you have and the correct voltage, plus whether you want a faster charge at 6amp, or slower at 2amp, and hit go. You can pause the charging anytime by hitting the "go" button. The fan will still spin even when paused. If you connect the polarity wrong, it will not charge and an error light comes on. Red to red, black to black. It cannot get easier than that.

It's not too bad and having one of these around is a lot cheaper then replacing a battery. It has multiple settings and can charge small 6V batteries and 12V batteries.

The device is a little noisy because of the built in fan. However, you will probably be using this outdoors so you probably wont even hear it. It's small and compact and easy to store because all the cords wrap behind the unit. It is also very light.

I would highly recommend getting one of these to maintain all your batteries.

First, I didn't purchase this from Amazon - NAPA had them on sale for $29 in Dec/2013. I am posting this review because nobody else has.

I needed something to maintain the batteries in my vehicles, couldn't decide on a larger charger so I bought this to hold me over. Turns out I like it a lot, it is not going to fast charge your battery, it can't start a dead battery but it does charge/maintain regular batteries, AGM's and Gel Cells.

Neither of our vehicles are driven far enough daily to maintain a full charge on the batteries and when your battery gets low it makes your alternator work harder, which isn't a good thing - those babies are expensive these days.

I've been hooking this up once a week to each of our vehicles, takes a couple hours per battery and keeps them at full charge.

Its not overly complicated, it is very quite, especially compared to old chargers, its small and works good. I didn't expect much but am pleasantly surprised at how much I like it.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I have a Corvette that sits in the garage most of the time and is used primarily for shows and special events. The battery is my number one issue with the car as the battery will drain just sitting in the garage. There seems to be so many items that can drain the Corvette battery that becomes a challenge if you leave the car stored for quite some time. I have been using a tickler charge for quite some time to keep the battery fully charge.

I was most pleased when I got the opportunity to get this charger through the Vine Program, The display lets me keep up with what is taking place with respect to the charge and the battery. You can charge both 6 volt and 12 volt batteries with a 2 amp charge rate and a 6 amp charge rate. You can use it on just about any kind of battery around the house. The charger comes in three models and this unit I have is actually the bottom model and the other two models have a digital message screen on the front.

The automatic multi sate charging process will optimally charge and maintain my battery. When fully charge the charger enters a maintenance mode and this is most important to me as days may pass before I even look under the hood of that Corvette. I can always trust though that the battery is a t a full charge level. While this has never happened to me, the battery charger will let you charge a fully drained battery as it is automatic. Just indicate the type of battery and the charger does the rest to bring the battery back to fully charged.

The LED lights indicator on top will show you the battery charge such as 25%, 50%, 75%, etc. This is a great feature I have never had on any other battery charger.

This is a good charger for the price. I have several battery chargers similar to this because I own motorcycles, tractors, and other vehicles that sit all winter and need the batteries charged so they don't go dead.

The other battery chargers I have are only 1 amp while this charger can charge at either 2 amps or 6 amps. That will obviously charge the battery quicker, but whether or not that is a good thing for a trickle charger being used on a battery I have no idea. Also, the 1 amp chargers I have are much, much smaller than this charger. This isn't a big deal for me but if you plan to keep this charger in your glove box or something like that when you aren't using it, this one will not fit while some other ones will. On the other hand, the larger size is handy in that it is big enough that the feet on the bottom of the charger are made to wrap the cords around so the cords aren't flopping around all over the place when you aren't using it.

The pictures, by the way, don't show the cords that plug into the wall and clip onto your battery, so you can't really tell what they are like. The cord that goes to your battery has two alligator clips--one for the positive terminal and one for the negative. The other cord is just for a standard 110 volt outlet. The cords are permanently attached to the charger and come out of the bottom. Each cord is about six feet long.

This charger has a cooling fan. That is a good thing. But it is noisy, which doesn't matter to me because I don't use it where I need quiet, but it might to you. Also, I figured the fan would shut off when the charger was in stand-by mode, but it doesn't seem too. Maybe there is a time delay on the fan shutting off, I don't know. I haven't had it but a short while.
