dull,

This is an adventure story that's supposed to be suspenseful, but I just found it dull. Roughly half of the narrative is told from the point of view of aliens, who are too much like humans to be believable, and too poorly characterized to be seen as individuals. There are lots of clever scientific shenanigans involving the exotic planet's environment, but I didn't feel that they were enough to make the story go.
