About the Artist

From having spent much time in New York in the late eighties and then producing the likes of 'Axis' and 'Motherman' for the Stereo Mcs in the early days, Fetisch then linked up with fellow Berliners, Marco Meister and Kaos to form Terranova, previously known as Turntable Terranova. Releases so far have included outings for Munich's compost label, All Good Vinyl - resulting in a collaboration with Manuel 'E2-E4' Gottsching for 'Tokyo Tower'. Now based on Copasetik, the guys, alongside releasing 'Turn Around' and 'Just Enough' bring forth their debut LP, 'Close the Door', to rapturous acclaim.

The song Midnight Melodic (Chase the Blues) got me interested in Terranova. I enjoy the soft but angelic vocal mixed with piano and heavy bass beats. It is definitely something for the chill periods, at the same time you can't help but bop your head listening to it sometimes. Other favorite songs on the album:
Plastic Stress
Never
Close the Door.

Get this if you like Gorillaz or garage techno.

Terranova is the only widely-known trip hop band from Germany and its music exposes a unique sound creation with their fresh blend of hip hop beats and the well-renowned European tradition of electronic music.

If you like Massive Attack or other trip hop bands, I'm sure you'll enjoy Close the Door as well.

My fav tracks include 'Turn Around' & ' Bombing Bastards'.

this is some serious intellectual downbeat. tricky is awesome and plastic stress blows me away everytime.
