This is NOT a new BUOS album. 8 of the 12 songs were on their 2005 album "Perception." 4 of the 12 are new. They advertise this as a new album, but it's not.

I heard a lot of negativity about the "new" Blessid U, so I thought I would give my thoughts. I have loved all that this band has done in the past, so I was excited, despite a bit of hostility towards this new recording. I do not own "Perception," so all of these songs are new to me. I do own the other Blessid U albums and if you love those, you will undoubtedly still find a way to be close to these songs. The songs here remain within BUS's common themes: God, love, relationships. "I Still Believe in Love" is like a sequel to their smash "I Believe." Eliot Sloan even wrote "Could Have Been With You" about the same girl he wrote "Hey Leonardo." From the strong beginning to the album, "Back From the Dead," to the hearty finish, this is still Blessid Union doing what they do best: helping us reflect on our relationships with others and ourselves.

As always, BUoS delivers a solid album. If you have Perception, buy the mp3s rather than the album given that some of the songs are just re-releases of Perception songs.

The CD was a big of a let down. I liked the style of their first few albums much better than their last few.

I will forever read the track list before I purchase a new cd. I already own most of these songs as they were on the previous release "Perception". Not a very nice thing to do to a big fan like myself. I thought the band was done all this time and the other day I stumble across this newer cd "close to the edge" and I jumped on it. Here I am playing it for the first time and I am recognizing most of the tunes. I read the track list and I am feeling cheated. Shame on you guys.
