I've read and have seen the illustrations in this particular book,Must say that i'm somewhat dissapointed...I expected and am still waiting for an at best nearly completed illustrated history of Black gospel music(Have'nt found one yet).How long i've waited for a book with several studio pictures of the Ward Singers,Argo Singers,Daniel Singers,Caravans,Patterson Singers,Drinkard Singers,Harold Bailey Singers,Herman Stevens Singers,Imperial Gospel Singers,Epps Gospel Singers,Ellison Singers,Raymond Rasberry Singers,Davis Sisters,Original Gospel Harmonettes,Dorothy Norwood Singers,James Herndon Singers,James Cleveland Singers,Gospel Chimes,Gospel Clefs,Hulah Gene Hurley and Daughter Carolyne,Sallie Martin Singers,Roberta Martin Singers,Oneal Twins,Stars Of Faith,Lockhart Singers,Violinaires,Voices Of Tabernacle Choir,Southwest Michigan State Choir,Hardeman Singers of Dallas TX.,ETC...While i enjoyed some of the information and photos i have not seen before now,I am still waiting for a Hardcover coffee table photo and information packed(whatever happened to?Johneron Davis of the Caravans?)BLACK GOSPEL MUSIC HISTORY BOOK that is without typographical errors and misinformation.Someone needs to take a hint and begin to do their homework!!End of comment and suggestion.
