This single is always close to me,

This is a really fabulous single. It strays from The Cure's usual single formula of the regular version of the song, a remix of that song, and two tracks unavailable anywhere else; instead, it has three remixes of well known and loved Cure classics. The remix of Close to Me is fabulous, getting rid of the cheesy eighties sound and adding a more classic sound of horns; the remix of Just Like Heaven, in my opinion, is actually better than from Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me; and finally, the remix of Primary is a bold statement, adding a slight techno sound. The whole single says a lot for The Cure and their maturing. It is unfortunate that it is out of print, but I bought mine on CircuitCity.com.

For starters the 3 songs on this CD single; Close to Me (closest mix), Just Like heaven (dizzy ix), and Primary (red mix) are not bad songs and remixes for the money, however, I was really looking for the 12'' version of Close To Me, that came with A Man Inside My Mouth and Stop Dead. The 12" remix as far as I can tell, can only be found on the vinyl 12" import, if you can find it. The 2 B-side songs ("Man", "Stop") can be found on the "Join The Dots" box set. So, please be aware of what you are buying. The remix of Close to Me on this single is the same you get in the CD version of "Staring at the Beach - the singles". I paid about a buck for this cd single and $3 - for the shipping. Don't make the same mistake.

Three eclectic remixes of the familiar favorites. Favorite on this one is the remix of Primary. If you liked Mixed Up, get this as the three track extension.

"Close to Me" is the main song that I've liked from The Cure.The song sounds soft.I'm glad that it was available in CD-Single.Now that it's out of print,I got mine at Tower Records,it was worth getting it!
