Editorial Reviews

"If you enjoyed Close Liaisons I have no doubt that you'll fall in love all over again with Close Obsession. . . . I devoured it and, once again, can not wait to see what happens next!"
- CaroleDee, Bitten by Paranormal Romance

"Seriously, I LOVE this series and this book! Lenkarda, the Krinar colony, is absolutely fabulous! [Mia & Korum's] relationship is changing and growing deeper while they face new dangers. . . . In book 2 you get a mix of darker and loving sex scenes that to me feels a lot naughtier then those in book 1."
- Brenda, Naughty Bits' Book Reviews

"The Krinar Chronicles series is recommended to readers who enjoy other worldly stories with a hot romance."
- Aman, Enticed by Books

"I loved how book one, Close Liaisons showed the relationship between Korum and Mia was a fragile thing not an insta-love connection although they do have some really hot sex. The series also deals with how scary dating an ultra-powerful being can be, something not a lot of paranormal/sci-fi romances delve into."
- Sahara, Wicked Little Pixie

Close Obsession is the second book in the Krinar Chronicles series and the story picks up right where Close Liaisons left off. In Close Obsession, Korum, a two-thousand year old alien that has come to earth with his people, the Krinar, and Mia, a twenty-one year old college student (who have had a tumultuous start to their relationship filled with misconceptions, betrayal, but plenty of passion) are traveling to the K Center in Lenkarda, Costa Rica.

Korum brings Mia to his home at the K Center and begins introducing her to his super cool advanced-alien technology. He is gentle and patient with her, and I think really goes out of his way to make sure she becomes comfortable in her new home. Korum and Mia find they still have some trust issues to deal with, and in doing so there is some delicious, angsty, passion-filled drama because of it! :) There is also an element of mystery and danger as an unknown enemy of Korum’s is plotting against the couple. We get to see Korum meeting Mia’s family and we get an inside look at the Krinar society and traditions, along with meeting some new and interesting characters that’ll hopefully be featured in future Chronicle books!

I think that Mia really grew in this book and I liked her so much better. She was so naïve and quick to judge Korum in the first book, but really comes a long way and begins to trust her feelings more and Korum.

Korum is incredible (I wish I had a super-hot alien just like him!!). He is super possessive/protective of Mia and they have such wonderful chemistry together. The sex is HOT as they explore new avenues of their passion together.

First, I have to thank Anna Zaires for providing me with an ARC copy of Close Obsession. After reading Close Liaisons (The Krinar Chronicles, #1) I HAD to know what happened next. Yes, I was cyber stalking Ms. Zaires like crazy to find out when the next book would be released! I felt like a kid on Christmas morning when I got the e-mail with the ARC attached :) My morning got better and better because Close Obsession was exactly what I thought it was going to be and more!

If you're familiar with my reviews you know that I love a good Sci/Fi romance. Authors always amaze me when they can create futuristic societies that so closely parallel our own. With their own rituals, technologies, and even edible delicacies I was, once again, blown away with Zaire's creativity.

I still don't know if I trust Karum completely. But honestly, it adds to his appeal. There's something about his charismatic, alpha qualities that draw me in. He's manipulative, gorgeous, and successful. What can resist that?

In Close Obsession Mia starts her journey into maturity. In parts of Close Liaisons I wanted to throttle her because she was so naive, but slowly but surely Mia's making her way into adult-land ;) She still has some reservations and embarrassment about her sexuality, but she is still young and it's completely believable under the circumstances.

If you enjoyed Close Liaisons I have no doubt that you'll fall in love all over again with Close Obsession. There's character growth, more shocking revelations, and a mysterious fanatical K left over from 'The Resistance'. I devoured it and, once again, can not wait to see what happens next!

I love this series. Korum is still as gorgeous as ever but at the same time has a sweet side even though he comes across demanding and harsh at times. Mia is still clueless on her feelings for Korum but powerless to deny him.

Lenkarda, the Krinar colony, is a small peak into the Krinar life and what their planet looks like. The technology that they possess is mind blowing and the knowledge that they have is vast. The plants, buildings and landscapes within the colony were given in great detail.

I really enjoyed how the author slowly reveals the way of life for a Krinar and how their technology is used. This story answered many of the questions that we had from the first one while giving some new questions as well as deepening the conspiracy within the K’s.

The question of whether Korum and Mia really care for each other or not is answered but will they survive a conspiracy that neither thought of? The author was able to keep you interest throughout the book and answer questions while keeping you in suspense as to who is behind the whole conspiracy. This is the main question that I have for the third book. Who is the villain and why? I will be continuing this series as it is a must have for me.

*I received this free from the author in return for an honest review.*

Again, Korum's domineering behavior made me really not like him very much, but what was worse was, again, Mia's response to it. Every time he does something despicable, she ends up not only forgiving him too easily but convincing herself that his behavior was justified! You don't forbid someone you love from seeing their family, swimming in the ocean, or straightening their hair. You don't force someone you love to move in with you or go on dates with you and you don't publicly humiliate them. Korum frequently all of these things and yet Mia has convinced herself that he is justified in his actions and that he is such a wonderful guy. It also bothers me that other than Korum's domineering behavior he is otherwise too perfect. He enjoys cooking, doing laundry, is extremely good looking, incredible in bed, smart, powerful, and has created all of these inventions that are just a little over the top. Such as a shower that uses nano technology to bathe you, brush your teeth, and instantly blow dry your hair, not to mention the bed that massages you or the house that cooks and cleans for you or the plane that pops out of thin air on command and takes you anywhere on earth you want to go within 5 minutes.
