Editorial Reviews

Dennis is Dead from Union City, CA has released their best effort yet with the 'Close To Home' EP. With three of the five members playing together since middle school, Dennis is Dead have been refining their sound for many years. What has emerged is an onslaught of some of the most brutal metallic hardcore out there today paired with an honest, energetic live show. While so many heavy bands are just going through the motions, posing, posturing, and practically choreographing their 'moves' on stage, Dennis is Dead just explodes with energy live, letting the emotion that rages from the music take them close to the breaking point (and sometimes beyond). These boys have already shared the stage with great bands like Chimaira, Impending Doom, The Acacia Strain, Terror, Emmure, For The Fallen Dreams, Oceano, Arsonists Get All The Girls, and Miss May I. But what separates Dennis is Dead from the rest of the pack is their commitment to building community between them and their fans. The relationships with the people that enjoy their music extend beyond the show or the internet, but to face-to-face connections and friendships.

5.0 out of 5 stars Union City Hardcore mayne! May 15, 2012
By Tim
Format:Audio CD
I have seen Dennis is Dead perform before and I just saw them a few days ago and copped this CD. And I gotta tell ya' man they never fail. I love what they are doing in the hardcore scene with their blend of hardcore and metal. As for is this EP my favorite track so far is "The Inner Circle" because of that gang vocal but I really dig this EP! I'm so glad to see this band coming up with digital releases and stuff; man that is so cool. I highly recommend this EP.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alive and Kicking Arse June 20, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
Dennis is Dead has to be one of the most melodic, up-and-coming metal acts I have ever listened to. I discovered them out of random on youtube, since I was looking for some heavy tunes to listen to. I saw the preview for the video of "Inner Circle" by these guys. Out of curiosity, I took a listen and was blown away by what I heard. The amount of passion these guys have in their music is inspiring and contagious - I've listened to "Inner Circle" and "The Atlas" quite a few times and they are quickly becoming my favorite tracks. However, DiD's quickly becoming one of my favorite acts to listen to as well. Their musical prowess is outstanding and this entire album is fan-****ing-tastic. It hasn't left my CD player since I brought it home. I will be following and listening to these guys for years to come.
