This is a two fer with some wonderful music played by Erroll Garner. If you are into Garner you should dig this since in the second part of the CD you will find the soundtrack of the movie "A new kind of love", where Garner is accompanied by an extended ensemble. It is not exactly big band music (rather a bossa orchestra) but it is very beautiful. If you are a newcomer, the first part of the CD (first ten tracks) is a perfect piece of Garner's trio work. His compositional skills are clearly represented here, as nearly half the tracks are originals.
The sound quality is really good, so this is a great purchase in every sense.

From the first time I ever heard Erroll Garner (35 years ago) on his "Concert by The Sea" album, he has thrilled and amazed me with his unique pianism. I was honored to see/hear him perform Live in Central Park, NYC shortly before his death in the 1970's. He and his quartet (Erroll w/acoustic bassist, drummer, and conga player) were absolutely brilliant at that concert, even better than on "Concert by the Sea"!. This 2 for 1 CD features Erroll at his hard swinging best. Buy it, it's Joyous.
