I have a large new age & light jazz collection, and listen to about everything I can get my ears to. Douglas Spotted Eagle will embrace your soul with his understanding of native peoples, earth forces, symbolic animal presences and an intutive knowing of our struggles and journey, in a way that aligns, centers, and strengthens your spirit for the road and challenges ahead!

I have had tears result from just letting it play in the background, from unconcious parts of me responding to the tonal messages I feel/receive from it.

Like your closest Friend, this to be experienced often. And it is to be shared with those you know are hurting inside or searching for joy, upliftment and truth. The high praise is well deserved Douglas ... this Master has created and shared something very special, and treated us as as his most honored friends.

What can you say about Douglas Spotted Eagle and his music, soulful, moving, touching. I have been enjoying Native American music for years now, and this fine musician is on the top of all the music I have collected. His CD "Pray" is probably the only other CD that surpasses this one. If you love Native American music, or simply great soul food music, try Douglas Spotted Eagle in your diet.

Though the two "Sacred Spirit" CD's continue to be my favorite AmerInd music, this one is almost equally well done. Spotted Eagle's flute provides the leading motif on all the tracks, joined by muted drums, traditional chant (as in "Bii'saao'beh" and "Brother, Father, Warrior, Son"), and contemporary European instruments. Most are slow and contemplative, but "House Made of Dawnlight" makes me imagine dancers moving lightly over grass (perhaps Native pixies, if there are such things), and "Little Ritual," with its deep-toned male-chorus chanting, sounds like just that. I'll be looking for more CD's by this artist.

I had been looking for native american chants and also some soothing music to listen to. Wandering around the store looking at covers wasn't any help. I happened upon this CD and with the aid of other reviewers here and also being able to listen to parts of a few songs here, decided to buy. I enjoy the entire CD (rare for me). I've found that I don't want a whole CD of chants now. This CD shouldn't offend anyone's ears, it is so easy to listen to.

Douglas Spotted Eagles' Closer to Far Away album is one filled with music that aids one on their journey, whether it be a healing journey, one of introspection, one of dreaming or any other personal journey. His music strikes a chord and keeps on striking deeper and deeper if you open yourself up to it.

I have had this compact disc for three years. It was introduced to me by a friend. Being two tribes of Native American myself, it enriches my spirit and heart. I recomend this to anyone.

This is by far the most beautiful collection of music I have been privileged to hear. All of the songs are wonderful, but "Arrival" is so charged with emotion, it will take your breath away and make you cry at the same time. Douglas Spotted Eagle is a truly talented artist. I can't wait to hear what comes next!

I purchased this CD on a whim a couple of years ago, having never heard of Douglas Spotted Eagle. I instantly loved the music and became a fan! Since then, I have purchased other Douglas Spotted Eagle CDs and have seen him and Voices of Native America in performance. Great stuff!

This whole CD is magic.

The song Arrival is sent straight from Creator. The mix of the flute, Dine straight singing and the powerful string arrangement is as magical as it can get.
