ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!,

I cannot recommend this album highly enough. I never thought in my life that it would be possible for someone to actually touch my heart with their voice....well Josh Groban has!!The album has a great selection of songs....in Italian and French and English and each one is sung beautifully. I prefer this album to the first ever so slightly, I think because there are more ballady songs. My favourite is definately No:10 - Remember When It Rained.....as Josh wrote this and plays the piano throughout. It is a beautiful simple song!! I highly recommend this album, well worth the money - especially if you are a fan of Josh Groban, or wish to become one!!

Josh Groban....extended edition,

A special treat for Josh's favorite country to visit, this Japanese release has extra tracks not available in America unless you're a part of his fanclub.Everything else about the CD is exactly the same as the American Closer release, a stunning companion album to the immensely popular debut album from 2002. With depth and clarity Josh Groban invites his fans to understand his own unique musicality, introducing his own lyrics, composition, and choice of guest artists like Deep Forest. Bravo Josh!

Reaching higher,

Josh's first album was fabulous, and I highly recommend it, but "Closer" allows him a chance to work with his new range and explore the industry a little, taking a bigger part in his career by trying his hand at songwriting and playing the piano as his own accompanist. He has continued to reach with his voice, truly earning the title "tenor in training" so many have worked to give him in the time since his first album. Closer also features some wonderful songs with other big names such as Joshua Bell, and the mix of languages is stunning.A self confessed fan of sad songs, several of the tracks have darker themes, but the passion Josh sings with draws you in and makes it worth it. This CD never fails to cheer me up, relax me, or help me release after a hard day. It is well worth the money, no matter the version you order. (The internet version has 17 tracks, including a cover of "My December" that is quite good.)

Josh's voice has matured SO MUCH since his first album, Closer is a wonderful collection of ecclectic music, with the same "Classic Josh" that we all fell in love with! So much diversity on this album, wonderful collaborations, it is a must for all Grobanites!

Not Josh Groban's Best,
By Pris (Lake Buena Vista, FL) - See all my reviews

Josh Groban was "born" with a beautiful voice. His first CD and first concert DVD were wonderful and I have them both. With "Closer" Groban breaks out as a songwriter too. However, he is not a talented songwriter and that should be left to the pro's. His material is dull and depressing. The highlights of this CD are Per Te, Mi Morena, and My confession. The worst is Never Let Go with Deep Forest. His choice of guests just keeps getting more wierd. This CD has a depressing look and sound. With Groban you always get the full package.

A Re-Release? You know he's in trouble,

When an "artist" can't make a decent "Live" concert DVD (Greek) and it flops worse than a pancake, the only thing to do is a re-release. Truly sad.

Groban should let others write his songs,

Okay, he was a good singer. I bought his first CD and it was terrific. But now Josh Groban wants to write his own stuff and it is DULL. Actually most of this CD is morose and depressing.
