Closer to Home is my favorite album. I have it in my car and just hit Repeat as I drive to work. Janie's music is full of warm melodies and touching lyrics. All the songs on this cd are love songs of sorts: songs about love in early bloom, love that's ebbing, or love that's moved on. Love isn't the easiest thing to write about, but Janie does so with a painter's eye and a mystic's heart. Her music reminds me alot of the Indigo Girls, Patty Griffin and Sarah McLachlan. This album is a definite keeper.

Janie's voice is rich. Yes, that's it...rich.
Rich in textures and rich in tone.
Her CD Closer to Home brings joy to my ears
and joy to my soul.
And because the subject matter of her original
songs are comprised of awakenings I often find
myself experinecing awakenings when I listen.
