5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Fourth
This is the fourth book in the Charlotte Adams mystery series. A cozy mystery that left me wondering "who dunnit" until the author spilled the beans!! Having read the entire series it was fun to revisit familiar faces and also to see how their lives have changed. Ms. Maffini left me wanting to know more and anxious for the next book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Misfit Plot
I was dissapointed with this book. I have read and enjoyed all the books in this series but the plot in this one was weak. The story dragged on and I found myself just wanting get to the end. There was a sub plot organizing a clients closset with Lilith that had nothing whatsoever to do with the murder and was a distraction as was Jack's reference to the baby as the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Pay Attention To Your Closets!, July 30, 2010

Poor Charlotte. With good intentions born of bad experiences, she is determined not to get involved in any more murder investigations. Alas, this time trouble strikes close to her heart and compels her to get more desperately involved than ever before. There are enough twists and complications to keep Charlotte on her toes--and the reader on the edge of his or her chair.

Charlotte's organizing business is always interesting to read about, informative and inspirational. This time, the closets in her own life hold things she must deal with.

4.0 out of 5 stars Every closet has a secret..., July 17, 2010
By
This review is from: Closet Confidential (A Charlotte Adams Mystery) (Mass Market Paperback)
The fourth Charlotte Adams book continues to deliver everything I've come to expect from Mary Jane Maffini - the characters are fun (and witty), the plot is a tangle I rarely solve before her heroine, and the secondary characters and her heroine continue to evolve in a living, breathing way.

This time, Charlotte Adams has been hired by a rich beauty model who has seven (or more) closets out of control. Charlotte is happy to lend her personal organizing skills and career to the task, but when the woman confides that her daughter didn't die in an accident, but was murdered, Charlotte finds herself back in the role of unwilling sleuth.

This time, however, Charlotte is trying to convince the poor woman what everyone believes: it was a terrible accident. But was it? Unwilling or not, Charlotte's sleuthing starts to lead her too close to home, and things are soon growing more dangerous than ever.

Every closet has a skeleton - and the next skeleton might be Charlotte herself.

Pickup the Charlotte Adams mysteries - you'll not be let down.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Un-Murder!, November 30, 2010

Oh my what a difficult time Charlotte Adams, our beloved sleuth has trying to prove that there was No murder committed. This unusual spin on the classic mystery form was amusing and fresh.

Softly underneath the story line is Charlotte's life and relationships. The Author uses a subtle wordplay that reminds me of an excellent harmony in music. It flows but never over takes the soloist.

This book was my favorite to date in the very wonderful series.

Now to be patient and await the next....

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!, August 12, 2010
This review is from: Closet Confidential (A Charlotte Adams Mystery) (Mass Market Paperback)
I loved this mystery. I've read all four books in the series and loved them all. I don't know why the other reviewer was so negative about it. I don't think Charlotte was negative, and definitely no different than she's been in any of the other books. I love Charlotte and love this mystery. Can't wait for the next one!

5.0 out of 5 stars a good read, July 8, 2010
This review is from: Closet Confidential (A Charlotte Adams Mystery) (Mass Market Paperback)
This was an enjoyable read. Charlotte receives two separate requests to look into a possible murder and for a wayward husband. There were plenty of twists and turns that kept me turning the pages until the last sentence.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another wonderful cozy....., August 16, 2010
This review is from: Closet Confidential (A Charlotte Adams Mystery) (Mass Market Paperback)
to snuggle up to (while in air conditioning) was the Charlotte Adams series which continues to be thoroughly enjoyable on many levels...I have to agree with Tub Lover re the "critic" who felt Charlotte was so negative...I didn't see that at all, either.

Rather, I am loving the way all the characters are coming together in this fourth volume, with lifelong friends growing ever-closer. The mystery was, as it should be, unsolvable by ME!! And with all that said, you the reader, will absolutely chuckle along in many spots, love NOT knowing the 'who did it' thing, enjoy getting to know Charlotte et al so much more, and greatly look forward to No. 5 in this series!!

4.0 out of 5 stars ANOTHER COZY MYSTERY BY MAFFINI, July 17, 2010

Another fun cozy mystery. Charlotte Adams has two organizing clients in this story. One is Lorelei who has 7 closets to rearrange - she is in deep grief over her daughter's death. Lorelei feels that her daughter was murdered, not killed in an accident as the police are proclaiming. Charlotte's friend Pepper is having a problem with her husband Nick who is also a policeman. Suspense builds as Pepper, Nick, Jack are all beaten and Baby Nick is kidnapped.

5.0 out of 5 stars Charlotte to the rescue, January 17, 2012
This review is from: Closet Confidential (A Charlotte Adams Mystery) (Mass Market Paperback)
Like the other reviewers I have read all 4 books in this series and will continue to do so until the author cries uncle or runs out of steam. Thus far Mary Jane Maffini is definitely doing neither.

This fourth entry in Maffini's Charlotte Adams series continues to do quite a bit more than just hold my interest. The people/characters in this series evolve and grow in their relationships and develop along with Charlotte as the plot thickens. And believe me it does thicken.
Lorelei Beauchamp is an aging beauty who has lost her only daughter, Anabel, in an unforeseen accident. Or was it an accident? That's what Lorelei doesn't believe contrary to the police and her husband, Harry. Charlotte becomes involved in this web of intrique by trying to disprove Lorelei's belief that her her daughter was murdered.
While all this is the foundation for an unsolved and unrecognized murder...Charlotte is busy trying to organize Lorelei's 7 closets with the assistance of Harry(Lorelei's husband). Unfortunately, Lorelei is little help due to her grief over her daughter's sudden death.
At the same time Charlotte notices Nick's apparent panic attacks when anything pertaining to Anabel's murder scene is mentioned. What is hidden behind those attacks and why?
I so much enjoyed this book because of the characters involved. Jack came through in child care at his bike store,CyCotics. And Charlotte turns up a box full of photos from their younger years while pulling down blankets for little Nick in Jack's closet. But why does Jack have so many pictures of Charlotte?
Charlotte's relationship with Pepper grows stronger and soon Pepper realizes that she can depend on Charlotte once again.
Charlotte finds a dependable and creative assistant in Lilith and 2 new aides in neighbors living across the street from the murder scene.
I had no idea who the murderer was until it was revealed.
Loved this book. This series and this author never disappoints. Looking forward to the next in this series and highly recommend the Charlotte Adams series to all lovers of cozies.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good plot, unnecessary use of cuss words, October 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Closet Confidential (A Charlotte Adams Mystery) (Mass Market Paperback)
The book holds your attention, plot moves along, love the organizational hints. I actually used one of them. However, why resort to cuss words. It is not necessary and actually gives a "hiccup" when you hit them. Reading along, into the plot and what is happening, then ###, out of place, out of character, doesn't fit. Very disappointed, an author that can hold your attention, unfold a mystery and keep you interested, vocabulary should match, cuss words cheapen the book.
