My apartment has a dead space behind the entry door that would be perfect for a shoe rack/entry shelf, but none of the shoe racks I looked at were sturdy enough, or held enough shoes. Enter this ClosetMaid stackable organizer. I found the 24" and 31" version on sale at a local store, and bought 2 of the 24" Alder version. The laminate shelves are easy to put together, with just 4 screws each, and stack nicely one on top of the other. With my small shoe size, I can get 3 pairs of shoes on each shelf, including below the bottom shelf, for 12 pairs of shoes total. In addition to shoes, I've put baskets on the top shelf for keys, scarves, gloves, and other miscellaneous items that always collect by the door. For an idea of the shelf size, see the image I've uploaded above.
Being particle board and laminate, this isn't the most beautiful piece of furniture in the room, but it is still a cute, sturdy shelf for my entry shelf.

I bought one of these, looking to organize a lot of baking supplies within a cabinet. It's quick and easy to build, and... I actually found it for half the price at Home Depot. ;)

This unit is made of pressboard with a laminate covering. Only the tops of the shelves are covered though so the bottoms just appear as pressboard. The one I ordered came with a lot of minor damage on all of the pieces. It was fairly easy to put together but I'm not convinced it is going to last very long as a shelf for shoes at my front door... For the $ I would have been better off going to Gothic Cabinet and Craft.
