Wow, what a big hit this book was in our house. The front page crinkles softly, which piques my baby's interest, and the pages inside are floppy. Each page features a different farm animal with a different texture -- the lamb has a "wool" patch (unlike the other reviewer, we haven't found that the "wool" comes off), the goat has shiny round orange "horns", the rooster has a "comb" of stiff material, etc. My 7-month-old son is *fascinated* with this book. Many's the time we've awakened to absolute silence broken only by the sound of crinkling as my boy lies on his stomach and pages through this book, studying each page and feeling the textures with a look of intense concentration. I can't imagine a baby who wouldn't find something in this book to look at, feel, and listen to. And another plus: it's soft, so I don't worry when the boy puts it into his mouth!

I bought my son Fuzzy Bee and Friends before his birth. He loved it so much, I bought Fluffy Chick and Friends and can't wait to buy the others by Priddy Books! They're soft, make noise, and the rhymes are fun to read! I have mine memorized. :) Definitely a good buy!

My mom bought this book for my daughter when she was about a month old. And I was shocked that she (my daughter) was interested in it just a few weeks later. It's brightly colored, and soft, and a lot more user-friendly and inviting than those baby books with hard cardboard pages. And it's durable, too. My daughter is a year old, now, and this is one of her absolute favorite books. She loves to touch each picture, and it cracks her up when I ad-lib animal sounds to go with each page. The book is also a big hit with my 3-year-old niece, who loves to "read" it to her baby cousin.

Purchased some of Priddy books but will unfortunately be returning them. Read a review on Goodguide.com. Poor health rating for high levels of toxins. Would not recommend for any infant who will be putting this in their mouth.

Daughter is 8 months old. She has enjoyed this book since she was quite small, maybe 3 months or so.

It's nice because it is cloth, so when she drools and chews on it, it stays in tact, unlike the board books that now look like a pack of dogs savaged them.

It has fun "illustrations" wit at least one texture difference per page, and the text is nice and short and rhymes, so you can semi sing it and turn the pages fast.

My 6-month-old daughter LOVES this book and I love to read it to her! It has funny rhymes for each animal and lots of textures to touch and play with. Also love that she can chew on the whole thing since it's cloth. Great gift for new babies.

I am not sure who enjoys this book more, me or my nine month old twins! It is a very visual "soft book" with interesting textures on each animal. Some even have that great crinkly paper that makes sounds as your child grabs it. My daughters really enjoy touching the different textures on the pages.

Author of The A to Z Guide to Raising Happy, Confident Kids

This book has been tested positive for high amounts of lead. The orange cow face has 3397 ppm of lead and the orange goat horns has 3190 ppm of lead.

My daughter (10 mths old) LOVES her Squishy Turtle and Friends (Cloth Books) , so I thought I would get her some of the other cloth books from the same collection. After reading many reviews, I chose to get both this book, Fluffy Chick and Friends, as well as Fuzzy Bee and Friends. Reviewers of both books said they were as good as Squishy Turtle, so I felt confident my daughter would like them too.

However, I do not agree AT ALL with these other reviewers, as the both the rhyming text and the animal textures on Fluffy Chick and Fuzzy Bee are FAR inferior to those on Squishy Turtle. The barnyard animals graphics and textures are uninspired and the rhymes are not very creative or fun to read. Neither this book nor the Fuzzy Bee one held my daughter's interest for long at all, and she kept going back to her Squishy Turtle book to feel the oyster shell, play with the seahorse's fin, and suck on the kelp surrounding the shark.

Fluffy Chick is also short one page, so it has two less animals to feel and touch as the other books, yet it is the same price as the longer books. That doesn't seem right.

I returned both Fluffy Chick and Fuzzy Bee immemdiately and decided not to try any more of these for fear they won't stack up to Squishy Turtle either. I have a couple pregnant friends now, and I plan to buy them both Squishy Turtle books, as it is the only one I am confident their babies will like.

As we took our six month old daughter on her first airplane ride to California, we felt a great a deal of trepidation. However, once we brought out the Fluffy Chick book during the flight, all was wonderful ! She laughed and was fascinated by the book, and she didn't cry once during the entire flight to California and back ! Of course, nearby passengers may not have been excited by our multiple (quiet) readings of the Fluffy Chick book to our daughter, but I think that they were very grateful for the quiet !
