It has quite a lot of info for these few pages, i just wish it would have more text and pictures about how kids used to be dressed

This book was much less than I had anticipated. It probably would give a child all the information they could comprehend in ONE sitting. I was NOT able to discern by the description how little information and how few pages this book contained.

What people wore in early America was influenced by the English and the Native Americans. Styles changed slowly, because clothing was so valuable that it would sometimes be passed down from generation to generation. Children dressed as miniature adults, and were often expected to behave as such.

What People Wore in Early America illustrates how people adapt clothing to a changing environment, and what factors brought about that change. A glossary and reference to two websites adds to the value of a child's study of this fascinating era of history.
