5.0 out of 5 stars Profoundly epic and stunningly beautiful deep house, August 1, 2005
This review is from: Cloud 9 (Audio CD)
You know any vibes coming out of Cielo are going to be gorgeously deep, soulful, sexy, heavenly. This album exceeds all expectations and then some . . . Nicolas Matar and Willie Graff always get it right by providing graceful mixes, delicious vocals, expert mixing . . . but on this release, they have managed to set the bar of great music even higher than before. All tracks on CD1 and CD2 are gems; No fillers and no favorites - because their mixes are not really about that. Rather, I think the intention is to establish an ambience that is introspective, liberating, confident, and beautiful. This album is by far the best thing I've heard this year. Long live Cielo. AMEN.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Cielo Bliss, October 26, 2005

This review is from: Cloud 9 (Audio CD)
A beautiful double-cd mix of deep, soulful house. While this is blissful music perfect for the after-party, it also brings you to Cielo's sunken dance floor on the nights when the focus is away from prog, tribal or techno. There is just a certain vibe one gets at Cielo itself- cool, sultry, smooth- and it is perfectly reproduced here. If anyone has ever been to Cielo to unwind with a few cocktails early on, before it gets crowded, with the disco ball lights rotating and swimming around the dance floor, in anticipation of the night ahead...well, here you are.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, September 5, 2005
This review is from: Cloud 9 (Audio CD)
I was eager to purchase this new release, as I have cherished my copies of Nicolas Matar's Tropicalism, Journeys, and Sun Dance. As with the others, I wasn't disappointed. Disk 1, arranged by Matar, is pure gold. I listen to it daily and absolutely love it. Disk 2, by Graff, is equal to the first in quality. I've had several dinner parties with this duo playing, and without fail, everyone asks who it is. Several friends went out and purchased the album the next day. Whether casual listening at home, in the car, or for a party or dinner, this album is perfect!
