5.0 out of 5 stars BRING THAT BEAT BACK.. BRING THAT BEAT BACK
ACUALLY I GIVE IT 10 STARS!!!!!!

"CLOUD NINE" IS AN EXAMPLE OF A HIP-HOP ALBUM AT IT'S BEST. THE COMBINATION OF "NINE'S" RHASPY VOICE AND THE WALT DISNEY ORCHESTRA-LIKE TRACKS IS UNBELIEVEABLE AND AMAZING. FROM BEGINNING TO END PERRRRRRRRRFECTION. NINE AND PRODUCTION COMPANY WERE NOT GIVEN THEIR JUST DUE. I FEEL THAT THEY WERE TO FAR AHEAD OF THEIR TIME. EVEN...

2.0 out of 5 stars A Little Ova Confident, Nine? (Rating: 5 out of 10- -2.5 stars)
Very seldom you will see me post an unfavorable review of an album, especially if it has came from the early or mid 90's. That doesn't mean that I haven't came across my fair share of bad albums from those days, and especially with the standards of hip hop albums here in 2008, would make an album that dropped 12 years ago sound like a classic. Unfortunately that is not...

EVEN THOUGH IT WAS RELEASED IN 1996, IF RELEASED TODAY, IT WOULD BE A CHART TOPPER FOR SURE. THEY WILL EVEN GO SEARCHING FOR HIS "9 LIVES" ALBUM!! "NINE" WHERE ARE YOU? COME BACK. YOU HAVN'T USED ALL YOUR LIVES YET.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nine - Cloud 9, January 8, 2006

This Cat sounds just like Xzibit would if he had a real bad cold, But it works for Him. His lyrics hit hard, with meaning, and the beats are very good. His flows are always right on beat. The most amazing thing about this album is the fact that it came out almost 10 years ago, and it hasnt aged at all. It is still one of the best albums i own, and thats saying alot because I am a huge collector of rap albums. I still listen to this album, it would be pointless to name the top tracks because ever song is good and has something to offer. I Highly reccomend It.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Unknown Hip Hop Artist!, April 27, 2005
This review is from: Cloud Nine (Audio CD)
Ever since I discovered 9 on a trip to Germany in 97 (he has more exposure in Europe than at home, thats a damn shame) he has been on the top of my quote unquote underground rappers list. I have been trying to find out about him in the last 8 years, but its like he just disappeared from the map. Wack promotion and marketing held Nine back from probably becoming a viable commercial act. Listen to a couple cuts offa Nine Livez and then check out Cloud Nine. Talk about progression. Cloud Nine is a notable improvement and at the same I would put it in a drawer with Doggystyle, Illmatic, or Strictly 4, you can put it on 1 and just let it play through with only a couple disappointing moments. That right there is an acheivement in hip hop, and NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW. Unless you all buy this album, give it to your friends, and call your local radio stations requesting "classic 9 issht!"

5.0 out of 5 stars hiphop love, December 9, 2002
By A Customer

Yo, I've been collecting strictly rap albums for a long time now, and my room mate has been collecting them even longer. We've both got lots of underground and old school albums and between the two of us, we could never find this album. Until I told a friend of mine about it. He said he had a small mom and pop record store near his house, and found it there. But that's the only place I could get it! Why is it so rear? It's a hot album! I also had to special order the nine lives album from that same store.

his voice would have sounded incredibly wack if he wasn't such an amazing rapper, especially the songs the product and lyin' king stick out, but the entire album is just brilliant.

props to rob lewis for the beats

5.0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Underrated Rapper of all time, June 12, 2001
This review is from: Cloud Nine (Audio CD)
If you are into underground rap this album is a must have. The guy nine is not very regonized but this album has the illest beats and the lyrics are crucial. After hearing this it is hard to believe that he never became large. Lyin king tells the truth of hip hop theres no bling bling [stuff]here. Its pure hip hop told by a real thug.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nine-DoubleM. A true hiphop artist., June 15, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Cloud Nine (Audio CD)
Nine, also refered to as 9mm, is one of the best hiphop artists ever. Unfortunately, bad marketing pretty much led to the fact he hasnt't done anything much since teaming with his producer Jesse West on 24/7. And it's a shame... But he shines on Cloud Nine, from the hard intro, to rhyming over modified classical breakbeats, Nine shows us why he is one of the best ever. And 4 Chicken Wings & Rice is a classic. Peep this CD!
