Clear, confident, bright are three words which aptly begin to describe qualities of the music on this CD. Clarity speaks for itself in the very high production values and musical sensibilities marvelously expressing the "beauty of the skies" inspiring the songs. Confidence has root meanings that allude to "being with the Truth." And as we all know, the Truth will set you free. Your Imagination can truly soar freely when you listen to this music. Have you ever watched clouds form in the sky, coming and going, playing with shape and motion in the winds and depths of a beautiful day, and everything just feels so Right and Good? The songs on this CD elicit such magical moments. This music lends itself well to meditation, yoga, the background of creativity, relaxing, seeking solace, wild flights of fanciful imaginings, serving adroitly a variety of intents and purposes but perhaps most perfectly suited for doing nothing but simply enjoying the moment in Peace and appreciating Beauty in Life. Brightness is radiant vibrancy, subtle, insistent, unobtrusive, enlivening and comforting all at once. For those of you who enjoy the music of John Serrie, Liquid Mind, Iasos, Aeoliah, Raphael, Kevin Kendle is a musician who can bring even more wealth into your life to share, create with, heal, explore, and take pleasure in. The instruments are varied on each track and include piano, synthesizers, guitar, harp, flute, saxophone. There is a continuity of understated simplicity throughout the CD, but also moments of almost symphonic grandeur akin to awe that you will recognize from times you have been entranced by the sky. If you like serene but lively music with a lot of textural depth and intricacies, you will find much pleasure in the purchase of this CD. If you are stressed out, listening to this will help you let go and detach yourself for awhile; the music is so clear and precise you will easily be able to unwind, disentangle your jangled nerves and sensibilities and free your imagination. There is just such a friendly and likable confidence in every song here and the CD as a whole will leave you feeling uplifted and refreshed as befits its title and inspiring forces. To take a concept like Clouds and turn it into an album would be hard enough, but to further take the concept and make it one of the most outstanding works of the latter part of the century, is without doubt genius.

This album will grow on you like ivy,(once it's got you hooked it will never let you go)! Kendle has a rare talent, the ability to take a subject research it so throughly that when listening you are totally convinced that this must surely be the way that a cloud would sound, it may sound ridiculous but it's true.

Take Cumulus for example an appealing start light and fluffy, and one can feel the warmth of a summers day upon a hill in total peace.

All the tracks are well crafted with deliberate intent,Kevin takes his work seriously but with great genius he makes each piece work to it's full potential, leaving the listener totally fullfilled at the end of the album and always wanting more, the mark of a dedicated and brilliant artist.

From the ice cryatal clouds of Cirrostratus to Herring bone picture postcard formation of Cirrocumulus, Kendle takes us on a wonderous journey, through every shape,texture and formation of Cloud.

My listeners and my favourite is Cumulonimbus the Storm Cloud, that weighty grey and sullen anvil moves tantalizing close bringing with it an almost irristable feeling of pressure, Kendles use of creshendo in this track is masterful and superbly done,if the hairs are not sticking up on the back of your neck at the end of this track you must be devoid of any emotion.

It's always a pleasure to listen to a Kevin Kendle album, because the one thing you can totally garuntee is that it will be an outstanding piece of genius, there are no through away albums with this artist.

Advice on wether to buy this album is easy if you pass this album by, you could regret it forever, Clouds as it says on the cover, is "Music inspired by the beauty of Sky" and once purchased you will in turn be inspired by it's brilliance.

This cd is so beautiful and powerful. Sometimes I play it while I'm asleep and I have some of the most beautiful dreams. Mr. Kendle's music.

I have wanted this cd for a long time after first hearing a cut played on xm radio from Spa on Direct TV. Every time it would come on, I was enchanted.

So, I have finally purchased it ...and while the music is what I had hoped it would be, to my amateur ears, the tracks all sound the same. Granted, this is not always a bad thing, some artists have so much variation in their instrumentals that it's not soothing (or vibrant or whatever it should be).

I have George Winston's Winter into Spring and on that cd, there is a distinct difference in each track as the notes become more lush and more instruments are used to show the sparse beauty of winter turning into the lushness of Spring. So, I had thought showing the different cloud patterns might be something like that but to me their is little variation between tracks.

But what's here is gorgeous.

My first exposure to the talented Kevin Kendle's music was the composition called "Sunflowers." I had never heard anything like it. It was being played on a satellite music channel. "Sunflowers" is included on Kendle's 2001 album, Flowers. As for Clouds, this is Kendle's debut album with a release date of 2000. I am pleased with all of the material--eight pieces are contained. Kendle weaves music that is not only atmospheric and lush, but also melodious, floating, relaxing, therapeutic, natural, and serene. Another word that I can use to characterize Clouds is pure--a word that I also use to describe classical music. In addition, the music displays minimal percussion. Not only am I interested in music that pleases me, but I am also attracted to music that is distinctive and that I can feel a personal connection to. Kendle's music fits that bill. The disc is almost 58 minutes. Actually, I rate this piece of work 3.5 stars. Clouds is recommendable.
